Weapon crafting in Destiny 2 is particularly expensive for larger upgrades. If you want to upgrade your glaive, you should better wait. A new trick shows how you can easily and especially for free upgrade your high-level glaive.
Is weapon crafting expensive? Weapon crafting came with the new expansion Witch Queen, along with some issues. Players complain not only about occupied vault space but also about a lack of materials. Many upgrades are expensive. An implemented resource cap also ensures that you cannot continuously get materials. Eventually, it will be over until the weekly reset.
That’s why a player on Reddit has now shown that you can upgrade your glaives for free. You just need to use this simple trick.
Leveling glaive and transferring to another Guardian
How does the trick work? If you have your new melee weapon and come to the reshaping step, you should better wait and not waste your ascendant alloys. Reddit user QuitBeingSuspicious announced that there is a free and easier method to reshape your new weapon.
Keep the following in mind:
- A second or third class is required
- You should not have started the Witch Queen story with your replacement classes
- It is recommended that you have pushed your glaive to level 16
If you have considered these criteria, you can dare to reshape. You just need to start with your Guardian who has not yet played the story. You start the Witch Queen story and transfer your already forged glaive from your main character to your second or third Guardian.
Then play until you reach the forge on the enclave where you can forge your “first” glaive. But do not select forging, instead choose reshaping. Then you can select your level 16 glaive and choose all perks without spending materials.
You even have access to the improved traits that normally require the rare resource “Ascendant Alloy”. This way, you can save your alloys for the exotic glaives you need.
