The gaming YouTuber “Dan Allen Gaming” has a secret identity like Batman. In fact, he is the leaker “TheRealInsider”: this came to light recently when he made a mistake on Twitter. Shortly after, his career, which he had built over 8 years, collapsed.

- The YouTuber “Dan Allen Gaming” is actually a successful gaming YouTuber. He has 190,000 subscribers, and currently, he mainly showcases Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. He has had the channel since 2014 – over that time, he has built a network of contacts. Everything is very serious, everything is very classic: He mainly does Let’s Plays. His greatest success was with videos about the giant vampire “Lady Dimitrescu” from Resident Evil.
- In this role, he has access to secret advance information sent to him by publishers: with the condition that he must not reveal this information to anyone.
- But – like Batman – he also has a secret identity. At the same time, he is “TheRealInsider”, who repeatedly leaks hot “industry news” on Twitter: 4 days before it was officially released, he showcased various new Assassin’s Creed games.

How did it get exposed? Someone asked “TheRealInsider” on Twitter something, but “Dan Allen Gaming” responded. He was apparently just using the wrong Twitter account.
That’s kind of like if you call Batman and he answers as Bruce Wayne.
Internet sleuth Jason Schreier looked into it, as Kotaku reports. Schreier commented: This explains where the “Real Insider” got the real code names of the new Assassin’s Creed games.
Schreier had reported for Bloomberg on the “Assassin’s Creed” news that Dan Allen Gaming had leaked.
Before further investigations could reveal whether someone had been unmasked, the exposed leaker confessed
I’m sorry for everything I’ve done. I am ashamed and disappointed in myself. I will reflect on the poor decisions and this will never happen again.
What did he leak? Because his information turned out to be true, “TheRealInsider” became an important source of information on Reddit. He repeatedly posted about “hands-on previews” and other things that only influencers or members of the press who receive advance information can know.

What’s the result now? The problem is that Dan Allen Gaming broke pretty much every agreement and promise that can be made in the gaming industry by leaking confidential information. Because people know his face, he is professionally ruined: No one will trust him again.
The YouTuber has now deleted both Twitter accounts. On YouTube, he explains: There was so much hate that he couldn’t handle it.
He says:
I have lost so many friends in the industry, so many relationships – personal relationships, business contacts, opportunities – all that for 5 seconds of fame, and I take full responsibility. All the hate I received on Twitter – I had to delete it because I’ve never experienced such a barrage of hate – and rightly so.
