The Twitch streamers Carsten aka ELoTRiX (31) and Marcel “MontanaBlack” Eris (35) are good friends. After a longer streaming break, ELoTRiX recently returned and reported how his buddy supported him.
Which streamer is it about? ELoTRiX became known in 2011 with gameplay videos of shooters on YouTube. Today he is considered the first major shooter YouTuber in Germany. Meanwhile, he is primarily active on Twitch and also one of the most-watched German content creators there.
From the end of July to mid-September 2023, ELoTRiX was not on air and withdrew from the public eye as well. In a post on X.com, formerly Twitter, he announced that personal circumstances were the reason for the prolonged break.
ELoTRiX: ‘I almost have to cry now’
What was such a difficult phase? When ELoTRiX spontaneously returned on September 12, 2023, he did not want to name the exact reasons for his break. However, it seems that the streamer had gone through a difficult phase and had been struggling with his mental health.
During this time, he received many messages from people in his surroundings, including numerous friendly content creators. One, however, stood out particularly: MontanaBlack is said to have called ELoTRiX several times daily until he finally answered the phone after 50 attempts.
How did MontanaBlack help? The Twitch streamer explains that “in such a phase” every call and every message would mean stress for him. Therefore, he did not respond to the well-meaning attempts to reach him. However, MontanaBlack simply kept trying.
This persistence apparently meant a lot to ELoTRiX: “I almost have to cry now. Monte is a friend for life and death to me.” Regardless of the fame, MontanaBlack is simply “a true brother,” the Twitch streamer says.

In his own stream, MontanaBlack also talked about the situation. He clarifies that he was not calling persistently to annoy his buddy. He was aware that ELoTRiX simply did not have the strength to answer the phone.
ELoTRiX wanted to talk to no one and just wanted to be in his own world, says the 35-year-old. MontanaBlack explains that he knows such phases himself and understands how much it can mean to see such calls and know that someone is thinking of you and is there if you want to talk.
Since his return, ELoTRiX has mainly showcased the new soulslike Lies of P or chats with his viewers in Just Chatting. He ended his break just in time for some major releases. However, one of them will not flicker across his screens:
