Avengers: Endgame was the grand assembly of almost all heroes from the MCU to confront the great villain Thanos. A forgotten hero could have been useful in the fight against Thanos earlier, but he met an absurd death.
Which hero is being referred to? In Avengers: Age of Ultron, Wanda and Pietro Maximoff are introduced. The siblings initially fight against the heroes and later join them to stop Ultron.
While Wanda survives and becomes an important heroine in the MCU, Pietro, or Quicksilver, dies. He sacrifices himself in the film to save a child and Hawkeye from gunfire. However, his death seems rather strange considering how fast he is.

An Inconsistent Ability
How did Quicksilver die? In the middle of the battle in the film, Hawkeye saves a small child, but then Ultron comes with a plane and shoots at both. Just before death, Quicksilver appears and saves Hawkeye and the boy. Unfortunately, he gets hit by the bullets.
The film repeatedly shows how fast he is. In one scene, you can even see that he perceives the bullets from a gun in slow motion and can consequently dodge them. From Hawkeye’s movement, you could even assume that he didn’t shove the two but carried them. So he could have escaped.
Speedsters, superheroes with speed powers, are often portrayed inconsistently in cinema and other media. They often lose, even though they shouldn’t at the shown speed. They are not invulnerable, but it should be very difficult to catch them. This is also shown in Bays Talks on YouTube, which analyzes the Quicksilver from the X-Men films.
The problem with such heroes is that they are actually very powerful but often appear only as supporting characters who, of course, should not easily defeat the big villain.
In the battle against Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, Quicksilver could have made a significant impact. The Quicksilver from the X-Men films could likely have stopped Thanos with his speed.
Of course, one shouldn’t take the abilities of the heroes too seriously; after all, the authors decide to what extent the powers work. Nevertheless, Quicksilver’s death seems a bit absurd when you know how fast he really is.
Will we ever see Quicksilver again? Since the X-Men are supposed to be rebooted, it’s safe to assume that we might see a new variant of Quicksilver in the future. However, it’s unlikely that it will be Aaron Taylor-Johnson again. Besides Quicksilver, there have been members in the history of the Avengers who are probably less useful: 7 members of the Avengers that we will probably never see in Marvel’s movies
