Numerous people currently spend a lot of time sitting:
- Countless users work from home and hardly leave their desks during the day
- Corona limits many activities and many play on console or PC instead of moving.
From personal experience, I know that some people have “improvised” their way into their new situation. They have repurposed a kitchen table into a desk or spontaneously bought a second monitor. Some just clear a corner in their bedroom to quickly work from there.
Depending on the location, this can be quite uncomfortable, and I personally bought a seat cushion that made my daily life significantly easier. My backside felt pleasantly relieved because of it, and I still use the cushion to this day.
Now I have additionally bought a cushion for my feet. Some might think, “what do you need something like that for?”, but for me, the cushion has been one of the surprises of 2021. Because I also didn’t think it would improve my everyday life so much.
A cushion for the feet ensures the right posture at the desk
What exactly did I buy? After a long search, I decided on a foot cushion for around 15 euros. Because I wanted to try something like this first. Nowadays, there are dozens of providers on Amazon and co that offer cushions in various sizes and colors. I finally settled on the foot cushion from the manufacturer “Dynmc you”.

These are the advantages: In general, it is recommended that you keep both feet firmly on the ground at your desk and also use a footrest for support. This additionally spares your back.
Until now, my feet didn’t sit perfectly on the ground. Because, when I wanted to raise the chair, so my arms would be horizontal on the table, my feet no longer reached properly to the ground or only on tiptoe.
The foot cushion compensates for this now so that my feet sit firmly. Also, I am no longer tempted to sit cross-legged on my chair. The cushion feels high quality, and the cover is removable and washable. In this way, dirt or foot odor can be removed from the cushion quite easily.
When unpacking, I also didn’t get any weird, chemical smell, as is common with furniture or cheap cushions.
Also practical: as soon as I take my feet off the cushion, the memory foam in the cushion returns to its original state after a while. The material of the cushion does not hold a rigid position.
Additionally, there are anti-slip nubs on the backside. This keeps the cushion in place, even if I move myself. This gives the cushion a stable stand on the floor.
These are the disadvantages: The cover of the cushion is a magnet for pet hair and dust. In a short time, the cushion took on my cat’s hair. Although the cleaning is not very time-consuming, I still find it annoying.
Also not to be underestimated is the hardness of the cushion. Some users have complained on Amazon that they sink too deeply into the cushion, and I had corresponding concerns. For me, the material definitely compresses, but not as extreme as I feared. However, it likely also depends on body weight. If you also have concerns, you should test it out beforehand.
A small investment for an improvement in daily life
This is why I bought the foot cushion: I wanted to improve my current situation in the long term and sit more ergonomically. This way, I can prevent problems and spare my body, especially my back. The cushion has significantly improved my sitting position in the long term, and the 15 euros were definitely an investment that I would make again.
The product, however, does not replace physiotherapeutic treatment. If you have severe pain or back problems, definitely see a doctor and get advice there.
