PC gamers can finally enjoy the Game of the Year 2022. After God of War: Ragnarök was initially available only on PS4 and PS5, the game is now released today on Steam and Epic. And it is already a bestseller. 

What kind of game is this? God of War: Ragnarök is an action-adventure and the direct sequel to the God of War released in 2018. The god of war Kratos and his son Atreus carry the fight against the gods of Norse mythology right to their doorstep this time.

God of War: Ragnarök received high praise at release, both from the press and players. The press ratings collected on Metacritic give it a Metascore of 94 out of 100, with a User Score of 8.1 out of 10.

The GameStar rated God of War: Ragnarök 93 out of 100 points. They praised the “masterpiece” especially for its gripping story, blockbuster-quality presentation, and intense combat. At the Game Awards 2022, the game won five awards, placing it ahead of Elden Ring.

Although God of War: Ragnarök is already two years old and no new content is expected, the demand for the game remains high. It currently ranks 4th in global bestsellers on Steam, even though it has not yet been released (as of 12:50 PM).  

New Graphics Options and Gameplay Features

What new features does the PC version bring? Some of the most interesting improvements can be found in the technology. For instance, you can expect:

• unlimited framerates
• The upscaling technologies Nvidia DLSS 3.7, AMD FSR 3.1, and Intel XeSS 1.3
• Super Ultrawide Support (32:9 monitors)

In the game options, you can now also adjust how much your companions help you with solving puzzles. A major criticism at release was that players often weren’t given enough time to solve a puzzle themselves.

If desired, you can also enable audio descriptions for cutscenes. Players with visual impairments will receive additional contextual information alongside the dialogues.
