It lives in the home of the Elders and is peaceful towards humans unless attacked. Through its special saliva, it can transform certain crystals into explosive bombs and can defend itself well despite its calm nature and low position in the food chain.
Why do players find it so hard to hunt it? The main reason is simple: it is just too cute. Its big round eyes, its loving gaze, and its peaceful traits are irresistible. This seems to be reason enough for thousands of players to refuse to even give the Dodogama a mean look.
How do the developers respond to the neglect of many hunters? Through all the hype around the Dodogama, even the developers have had some fun. The quest name and the description of the master rank Dodogama hunt make players’ eyes sparkle.
Thus, Capcom has immortalized Dodogama’s enthusiasm in Monster Hunter World in the quest Can’t Bring Yourself To It
(translated: I can’t bring myself to it).
The quest description states: We are currently facing a rather unique problem. Research has been halted due to a wild Dodogama. However, most of our hunters refuse to hunt it because they find Dodogamas… “cute”.
Whether the Dodogama will return in Monster Hunter Wilds remains to be seen, but there is already a proper list of known monsters.

While one Reddit user does not understand the hype around the Dodogama, another user presented an interesting theory (via reddit).
He introduces the Bloofus theory (Blue-Doofus theory). This theory states that if a character is blue and looks foolish, it will be loved by fans. Based on some examples, one could somewhat agree with him:
