Players have eagerly anticipated the campaign of the Battlefield competitor Delta Force. However, it’s not well received by players on Steam.
Which game are we talking about? This refers to Delta Force – Black Hawk Down. It is a free cooperative campaign for the Free2Play shooter Delta Force, which was released on Steam in December 2024. The game is being developed by the Chinese studio Team Jade, which has also worked on Call of Duty: Mobile.
The campaign of Black Hawk Down is based on the film of the same name by Ridley Scott and takes place during the Battle of Mogadishu in 1993. As elite fighters of the Delta Force, you are tasked with rescuing the crew of a crashed “Black Hawk” helicopter that went down in enemy territory.

Great anticipation gives way to bitter disappointment
Fans were eagerly anticipating the campaign. Under the trailer on YouTube, comments from those who remember the film (as well as the game from 2003) are piling up. Many players also can’t believe that the campaign is completely free to play.
However, since the release, the mood has changed, at least on Steam: There, the campaign is rated “mostly negative”. Of over 4,000 reviews, only 38% are positive.
These are the biggest criticisms so far:
- There are no checkpoints within the missions. If you die, you are sent back to the beginning.
- The campaign is designed to be played in co-op. As a solo player, you have very little chance here.
- The performance of the game is extremely unstable. Players report crashes during the loading screen and significantly lower FPS than in the main game.
IzzyGGN writes in his review on Steam: “This is a complete disappointment! They have designed the campaign completely in hardcore mode, and it is impossible to play in single-player mode.” Team Jade has only “cobbled together a false remake of the original from 2003”
Is the Delta Force campaign worth it? If you are looking for a challenging shooter campaign that you can play with your friends, then Delta Force – Black Hawk Down might still be worth checking out. However, if you prefer to play solo or with bots, you should steer clear of the game.
