In Pokémon GO there are now tickets for the event “a colossal discovery.” This will grant you Regigigas, but how strong will this legendary Pokémon be?
What is this ticket? In the in-game shop, you can now find the ticket for “a colossal discovery.” This is a live event and will take place on November 2nd.
In it, you will also gain access to a special research quest that will ultimately reward you with the legendary Pokémon Regigigas. It is the first time that the Regi leader will be catchable.
This is how strong Regigigas will be in Pokémon GO
These are the stats: To assess how strong Regigigas will actually be, let’s first look at its stats:
- Attack: 287
- Defense: 210
- HP: 220
- Max CP: 4337
In terms of stats, Regigigas is a true monster. It achieves the highest CP in the game after Slaking and has an attack that can compete with Mewtwo.
This is the major disadvantage of Regigigas: The legendary Pokémon is of Normal type and thus has no advantage against any Pokémon. Additionally, it learns a completely mixed bag of moves and cannot benefit anywhere from STAB, as the moves do not share the same type as the Pokémon.
This means that you cannot really use Regigigas effectively. It simply has too weak moves and the Normal type exacerbates the situation.
Where there is hope: The Chinese website of Pokémon GO has already announced that Regigigas should learn the move Giga Impact during the event. Other Niantic accounts have remained silent on this so far.
Giga Impact could make Regigigas better. We do not yet know how strong this attack will be, but if it has good stats, then Regigigas could become a good all-rounder.
Can you also get Regigigas some other way? If you do not want to obtain the Pokémon through the special research, you can simply wait for the EX raids. It will also appear there around mid-November and replace Mewtwo.
