Why are the developers revealing this information? The developers of Path of Exile 2 have shared data about the current season “Dawn of the Hunt”. The season initially started off rocky on April 4, 2025, but then received many patches that largely fixed the issues. Recently, the developers addressed the lack of loot with patch 0.2.0G.
The season is now already a month old, which the developers are using as an opportunity to publish a statistic that shows what is currently popular and what is currently unpopular. One class stands out in particular.

The Amazon dominates everything
What kind of class is this? In Path of Exile 2, in addition to character classes, there are also associated subclasses, the so-called Ascendancy classes. These have a significant impact on one’s skill build. Currently, the Amazon is particularly popular. 23.78% of the players of Path of Exile 2 have chosen this subclass.
This likely has several reasons. Firstly, it belongs to the new Hunter. This class was introduced with the new season, and players wanted to see what could be done with it. It also fits that the new subclass “Lich” ranks second with 12.27%.
On the other hand, the OP and meta build of the Lightning Spear Hunter is currently widespread. Here, players throw javelins at enemies that trigger a chain reaction of lightning upon impact, resulting in a high clear speed. The build also benefits from speed, which is generally considered a good attribute.
What else have the developers revealed? While the most popular Ascendancy classes mainly consist of newcomers, the “Acolyte of Chayula” with 0.74% and the “Chronomancer” with 1.32% are particularly unpopular among players.
Interesting are also the statistics about deaths in the game. While there were 185,961,090 deaths recorded in the Standard league in one month, only 291,112 characters died in the Hardcore league during the same period. The hardest boss in the game, the Arbiter of Ash, has been defeated 355,877 times meanwhile.
The new update from Path of Exile 2 did not focus on OP builds, but rather on loot, which had been dropping too rarely for many players before.
