In the real world, it is possible to buy numerous fan items featuring your favorite characters from One Piece. But did you know that one star in One Piece is so famous that there are keychains of him in his own museum?
Which character is meant? We are not talking about Brook or Uta, who gained fame through their singing. The character who has his own museum in One Piece is Mihawk “Hawkeye” Dulacre.
He is currently the best swordsman of the anime. He is a member of the Cross Guild, a group surrounding Clown Buggy, which is among the most influential in the pirate world.
The swordsman is Zoro’s great idol and even taught him during the time skip. Zoro’s goal is to become even stronger than his mentor and take the title from him. However, even outside of the swordsman scene, Hawkeye is a famous personality who even has his own fan items. Unfortunately, this fact never made it into the anime.
Hawkeye’s own museum does not appear in the anime
What has Hawkeye achieved? In the East Blue, there is a city called Nazakawa City. There was the Mihawk Memorial Museum, before it was unfortunately destroyed. It was an absolute tourist hot spot and had an integrated souvenir shop where you could buy keychains, mugs, and other things you like to take as a souvenir.
On Reddit, you can see a picture of the museum entrance:
Several objects used by Mihawk were displayed in the museum, including:
- A toothpick with which he pushed takoyaki into his mouth, which he enjoyed together with Jinbe
- A feather that fell from his hat
- A shovel that he used during land work in the past
- There was even a nail clipper in the storage
The museum’s title song, which sings of Hawkeye’s sword-fighting skills, has become established in the East Blue as a children’s song. Unfortunately, it was closed after the owner died. Additionally, a river overflowed its banks and destroyed the museum’s building.
Why is it not seen in the anime? The museum is part of the novel One Piece novel ZORO. It was published in the magazine of One Piece and will be released next year as an independent novel. The story was written by Jun Esaka and is not part of the official storyline of One Piece.
Often, such stories and spin-offs are a fitting addition to the official story. Here, a time period is covered that occurred before Zoro joined the Straw Hat crew. This was not seen in the anime and manga. Additionally, Oda has later recognized some non-official stories, including Luffy’s past with Uta.
Hawkeye and the Marines have a complex relationship. The swordsman did not want the organization to interfere in his actions – that is why he reluctantly joined it. You can find all the details on MeinMMO: The creator of One Piece reveals new details about the best swordsman in the world
