Since GTA 3, players have known the voice of an actor from the radio, but will his character also appear in GTA 6?
Who is this about? This is about Lazlow Jones, the somewhat sleazy but always entertaining radio host from GTA. He appeared after GTA 3 in 8 other games in the series, including GTA: Vice City, San Andreas, and most recently in GTA V and Online.
In GTA V, Lazlow is part of the story between the playable character Michael De Santa and his daughter Tracey, who appears on a casting show hosted by Lazlow and is treated inappropriately by him. Michael humiliates the host by piercing and tattooing his face against his will.
Lazlow has always been portrayed by Jeffrey Crawford Jones, who was also a writer, director, and producer of the GTA series. Now that the release of GTA 6 is getting closer, many fans are wondering if he will return there as Lazlow.
Here you can see the second trailer for GTA 6:
Lazlow probably won’t return
What does the actor say about it? A response to the question of whether Lazlow will return in GTA 6 came from Jones recently in an interview with Nerd Reactor on YouTube.
In this interview, Jones says that he doesn’t believe he will appear in GTA 6:
We [Jeffrey Jones and Dan Houser] left in 2020, so I doubt it. I loved working on those games with Dan and I was on the radio in GTA 3 and all the GTAs after that, and it was an amazing journey, working on GTA for 20 years.
Jones no longer works for Rockstar Games today. In 2020, he left the studio to open a new studio with Dan Houser, a co-founder of Rockstar Games, and other colleagues – Absurd Ventures.
Some fans are disappointed that Lazlow probably won’t return – not even as a radio host. Others try to look at it optimistically. On Reddit, fans write, “It was nice having that through line with Lazlow throughout the series – but things change.” (FoalKid on Reddit)
Another user believes: “I can definitely see there being a mention of Lazlow in a radio podcast or something. It would be pretty amazing.” (VGChamp2020 on Reddit)
In response to the question of how many frames per second GTA 6 will run on consoles, another former developer provided an answer. You can find this in the following article: Former Rockstar Games developer explains what players can expect from GTA 6: “Maybe they have some magic and make it happen”
