Destiny 2 is getting a new strike today, which is also likely to advance the story of Season 12. However, not all players can start today.
What’s happening today in Destiny 2? A lot is going on in Destiny 2 today. First, there will be maintenance before the weekly reset, and Bungie’s action MMO will receive a new update – the Hotfix 3.1.1.1. The patch is supposed to fix some minor issues but will also make numerous changes to the Stasis classes.
Additionally, with the new Destiny week, the March Iron Banner begins, and a brand new strike is making its way into the game.
Strikes essentially represent a kind of mini-dungeons in Destiny 2. They are somewhat longer missions designed for smaller fireteam sizes and are relatively easy to complete. The maximum number of players is limited to 3 Guardians.
There is also a more challenging strike mode: Nightfall – The Burning. With numerous modifiers, special enemies (Champions), and sometimes extremely difficult difficulty levels, these Nightfalls provide hard challenges – but also special loot.
What is special about the new strike? Some Guardians are looking forward to this strike. Not only is it completely new, but it also appears to be closely tied to the seasonal story surrounding the Cabal and is likely to advance the story further.
Currently, it seems that this could be the peak of the seasonal story. After a failed assassination attempt by the Cabal on Commander Zavala, the Guardians are to prove themselves as champions of humanity against the best warriors of the Cabal. This will determine whether the Cabal under Empress Caiatl will bow to the Guardians or if we will have to kneel before the space turtles and then lead the charge against the Hive. And it looks like this will be fought out in this new strike.

Why not for everyone? The new strike is coming today, March 23, into the game, but not all Guardians will be able to start right away. Initially, only buyers of the current season pass will gain access to the strike. They can start directly in the new content today. All other Guardians will have to wait a week until March 30. Only then will the strike be accessible to them. Starting March 30, it will also be available as a Nightfall strike.
