At the last BlizzCon 2021, there were quite a few announcements. You told us which ones were the most exciting and which were the least interesting.
Here’s what it was about: The BlizzCon is an exciting event for many Blizzard fans, where there is a lot of new information about upcoming content for their favorite games.
This year there were also a number of announcements, even though the BlizzCon had to take place online for the first time due to the pandemic. We wanted to know from you in a survey which of these announcements was your personal highlight, and you answered us.

Rank 3: Diablo 4

This was announced: Although the release of Diablo 4 is still far away, we got another snippet of new information at BlizzCon. The Huntress was introduced as a new class for the action role-playing game, and players could also see her in action thanks to videos.
- The Huntress is a fast and mobile class
- She can be played in both melee and ranged combat
- Poison plays an important role for her
The class is also not bound to one gender. You will also be able to create male Hunters if you wish. You can find all the information and videos about the Huntress in our article:
This is what you say about the new class: For many, Diablo 4 is a game they are either really excited about or cautiously optimistic. Therefore, it’s not surprising that the new class made it to rank 3 in our survey.
While some of you want to wait and see how the Huntress will play, others are already convinced by the class, even though the release of Diablo 4 is still some way off.
Diablo IV has interested me for a long time. But the class video of the Rogue triggered the “I want to play this. NOW!” reflex for the first time.

The trailer was so good. The gameplay looks superb. I prefer them to take their time and do it extremely well. With D2, you’re busy for a while. Before that, play the new Magic game.

Rank 2: WoW Shadowlands

This was announced: Fans of WoW Shadowland got a glimpse at the BlizzCon of patch 9.1, which will continue the story of the expansion and bring new content. This includes, for example:
- A new area called Korthia
- New raid “Sanctum of Domination” with 10 bosses
- Unlocking flying in Shadowlands
- New dungeon season with new affix
Additionally, Blizzard showed an exciting new cinematic, in which Anduin is pierced by the Archon with a blade. A lot of drama and loot awaits the players. You can find all the information on patch 9.1 in our article:
This is what you say about patch 9.1: Although part of the announcement about WoW Shadowlands was unfortunately leaked before BlizzCon, it didn’t dampen your excitement. You have chosen patch 9.1 of Shadowlands as rank 2.
Especially regarding the story and the cinematic, many of you expressed your thoughts in comments under the articles about it and on Facebook. There were many speculations and excitement or hopes for what the story of Shadowlands still has to offer.
To be honest, I see a Sylvanas with regret, a dead Anduin, and an Arthas as an ally coming our way in this expansion. I think it’s about time we send some alliance members to the dust in an expansion.

There were also many discussions about the fact that you will soon be fighting against Sylvanas in a raid. Some of you found it disappointing and don’t want Sylvanas to die in the raid. Others, however, were glad that it is finally happening and that you can beat the banshee:
I don’t want to fight her; I just want to see the end of her existence. If that means that Anduin becomes the next Lich King or Tyrande meets her end, those would all be justifiable alliance losses, and for her end, they can gladly burn all other known ally chars.

The Blizzcon 2021 was a disappointment despite a big highlight – Expert talk in the podcast
The Blizzcon 2021 led to mixed feelings. With the Diablo 2 remaster, there is a big highlight, but a really big surprise was missing.
Rank 1: Diablo 2: Resurrected

This was announced: After many leaks and rumors, it is now official. The remaster of the beloved classic Diablo 2 was finally unveiled at BlizzCon. The game is being polished by the studio Vicarious Visions, which already did a great job with the remaster of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2.
The remaster of Diablo 2 is being developed for PC and all current and next-gen consoles. It is meant to convey the original feel of D2, while also bringing some improvements. These include, among other things, graphics and gameplay elements like shared stash for all characters or easier item comparison.

This is what you say about the remaster: The reveal of the remaster has left a strong impression on you, bringing Diablo 2 to rank 1 in our survey. Also in the comments under the Diablo 2 article and on Facebook, you discussed the game extensively.
This will be awesome! Check out the trailer and the deep dive! Exactly what I wished for. It remains as it is, just looks much better, and there are a few “Quality of Life” adjustments like shared stash. I’m really looking forward to it.

Many of you reminisced about how they used to play Diablo 2 for days as kids or teenagers and want to slay hordes of demons again in the remaster along with friends.
The release on consoles was also welcomed, for example on the Switch:
Absolute must-have on the Switch. I was addicted to it on the PC. Now just Diablo 1 + expansion, then everything is perfect.

However, there are still some concerns. After the failed remaster of Warcraft 3, some of you are still skeptical and hope that Diablo 2 will be a good remaster.
Yes, the development team is different, but a healthy caution is never wrong, I think. Hope for the best, expect the worst.
