The open-world MMO Tower of Fantasy is getting a new update in August. A trailer aims to prepare players for some summer fun.
Tower of Fantasy is an MMORPG in anime style with a gacha system, similar to games like Genshin Impact. However, while the style and system are quite similar, Tower of Fantasy leans more towards a sci-fi setting rather than fantasy. In 2023, the game even made it onto our list of the best MMORPGs of recent years.
Now, Tower of Fantasy has announced an update for August 6, 2024, and wants to get you ready for some summer fun with a trailer:
What does the update bring? The video description already states that new challenges in a summer setting are waiting for you with the update. mmorpg.com also reports of a new character who can defeat your opponents with a single hit using an instakill attack. Boss enemies are excluded from this, of course.
What does the trailer show? The trailer doesn’t show much – at least not much about the content of the new update. Instead, the trailer looks like a true fanservice video for “waifu lovers.” It features various characters enjoying their summer on the beach while indulging in a game of beach volleyball. So, one can already assume that the update will carry a very summery theme.
In games with such an anime style, it’s actually typical that you get a bit of fanservice. But this trailer seems to go all out. “An A+ for the cameraman,” writes one user in their comment (via YouTube). This seems to refer to the fact that every new scene appears to start with a camera pan over wobbling breasts or butts.
Players hope for summer skins
Some fans seem to be hoping for bikini skins with this update. However, if the characters receive the skins seen in the trailer, one must admit that they won’t provide much support in combat. Nevertheless, players appreciate that there is no “censorship” in Tower of Fantasy, unlike many other games that would prohibit such skins.
