With a new system, the developers of the MMORPG Star Trek Online create an incentive to further improve characters beyond level 60.
If you no longer feel the urge to play Star Trek Online starting from level 60, then the new “Personal Tasks” system comes in handy.
More Tasks for High-Level Players
What was the problem? Eventually, even in a vast MMORPG, you see everything and complete all tasks. The character has reached the maximum level and there are simply no more challenges. Then the game loses its appeal. The developers want to keep the fans engaged, as an online game thrives on having as many players as possible.
What’s new? Cryptic Studios have recognized the problem in Star Trek Online and will soon introduce “Personal Tasks.” This is a new, account-wide progress system for Captains. With the system, you can unlock account-wide attribute increases through daily tasks.
- You can expect new tasks every day in three difficulty levels.
- The tasks are unique to the entire account.
- They are small missions that can be easily completed alongside other activities.
- Completing a task rewards you with experience and additional rewards.
- If you’ve collected enough EXP, you’ll earn a Personal Task Point.
- Each Personal Task Point allows you to choose from three random attribute increases.
- Each attribute, such as critical hit chance or damage resistance, can be increased multiple times.
- The attribute increases apply account-wide and therefore also to characters that do not yet have access to Personal Tasks.
Get the Rewards
What other rewards are there? When you complete your Personal Task, you will receive a reward box. This can contain the following:
- Experience for Personal Tasks (scales with difficulty)
- Normal experience (scales with difficulty)
- Task box with 1 (Easy), 2 (Medium), or 5 (Hard) of the following randomly selected rewards (prizes may repeat):
- Credits
- Dilithium Ore
- Crafting materials
- Reputation Marks
- Fleet Marks
- Captain Specialization Point
It is worthwhile for all veterans who have already reached the highest level to play again, as there is finally something new to do.
The new Personal Task system does not replace the existing server-wide task system. The new feature will be introduced with the 9th Anniversary Update of the MMORPG Star Trek Online, which is set to be released later this month. A recent update introduced content from the “Age of Discovery” from the Netflix series Star Trek Discovery.
