Minauros
- Ruler: Mammon
- Focus: Greed & Avarice
Minauros represents greed and material decay. This hellish layer cruelly demonstrates how insatiable avarice does not lead to wealth and stability but to decay, stagnation, and the slow, relentless downfall of everything.
Its ruler is Mammon, the King of Greed. He was once part of a conspiracy against Asmodeus, but when the plan was on the verge of exposure, he betrayed his allies and begged for mercy. Since then, he has been despised and isolated by other archdukes.
He is the personification of greed, betrayal, and the fear of loss. His true form is that of a gigantic, snake-like creature with scales of silver and gold. His residence is packed with treasures from all who tried to outdo him in a deal. They all failed.
Minauros itself is an endless, stinking, and toxic swamp lying under a sky of eternal, dirty hail and oily rain. Resplendent cities, but subjected to decay, slowly and inexorably sink into the mire. The surroundings themselves are deadly; the air is filled with diseases, and the pools of the swamp are filled with acid and poison that devour careless travelers.
