In the Asian market, the MMORPG focusing on Norse mythology has been available since 2021 and is a mega-hit. It took quite a while until its launch in Europe. However, it seems that the developers did not make many changes during this time for the Western market.
You can tell ODIN: Valhalla Rising’s mobile and Asian roots everywhere. There are autoplay functions, a lot of repetitive gameplay, a gacha system, pay-to-win elements, revealing outfits combined with breast physics, and other annoyances.
Additionally, mobile users complain about technical issues and high hardware requirements. The relatively low 3.7 out of 5 stars on Google Play as well as in the App Store reflect this. On the plus side, however, are impressive technology for a mobile MMORPG, the complex skill system, and the intuitive controls.
