Rank 4: The Quinfall
Developer: Vawraek Technology | Platform: PC (Steam) | Release date: January 24, 2025 | Payment model: Pay2Play | Status: Early Access
Although The Quinfall is only developed by a small studio, the ambitions were high. The developers promised a comprehensive MMORPG with a huge game world and almost every feature that has been seen in an online role-playing game at some point.
The early access version, however, unfortunately appeared very unfinished in all areas in January and also suffered from major technical issues – the only 22 percent positive reviews at launch clearly reflected that. No wonder that the game was even offered on Steam for under 2 euros at one point (the normal price: 19.50 euros).
Nevertheless, the game has not been able to reach the peak from the launch with 6,081 simultaneous active Steam users in recent months. These days, the player numbers are more likely in the three-digit range (Source: steamdb.info).
The good news: The developers continue to push forward despite the rough landing and are gradually releasing updates that fix issues, resolve problems, and add new content – including clan wars or a dungeon party system to find players.
The improvements are being recognized by the players. The Quinfall has now managed to achieve 47 percent positive reviews on Steam, while the trend over the past 30 days is even slightly more positive (54 percent). This balanced rating also shows that the MMORPG continues to fall short of expectations and has much room for improvement.
How grand the promises of the developers sounded already 3 years ago (and that we were very skeptical whether that could be too ambitious), is shown by this announcement from January 2023: New MMORPG impresses with beautiful trailer and big promises – but that makes you skeptical
