In FIFA 19, the Bundesliga offers great players for a strong Ultimate Team. Some of them are significantly stronger than their ratings suggest.
Better than the rating: Of course, anyone building a Bundesliga Ultimate Team wants to have players like Lewandowski, Reus, or Alaba in their starting lineup. The problem is: Many of these players are simply too expensive.
However, the Bundesliga has several players who are much stronger on the pitch than their ratings indicate. The advantage: Many of these players are significantly cheaper than the classic top players of the Bundesliga. We present to you nine players who seem almost overpowering considering their stats.
Surprisingly strong players in attack
- Paco Alcacer (79): The Spaniard from Borussia Dortmund has only a 79 overall rating, but plays much stronger in FIFA 19: The striker is a good target player, who is strong in finishing, but can also hold and distribute the ball excellently. Keep an eye out for his special card from the fourth Team of the Week. This card raises Alcacer’s overall rating to 82.

- Kingsley Coman (83): The left midfielder of FC Bayern Munich ranks behind wing competitors like Arjen Robben, Marco Reus, and Franck Ribéry in overall rating. However, the Frenchman is a weapon that is hard to stop: With a pace of 94, it is nearly unmatched, along with very strong dribbling stats and good finishing. When you play with Coman, fast attacks are guaranteed.

- Karim Bellarabi (80): Karim Bellarabi has been a popular alternative to the league’s top players in recent years. He is virtually the counterpart to Coman on the right side: speed, dribbling, finishing – Bellarabi performs offensively significantly better than the 80 overall rating suggests.

Surprisingly strong players in midfield
- Jean-Philippe Gbamin (79): The central defensive midfielder of Mainz 05 may not look very strong in overall rating, but he is a real wall in midfield. The 83 physicality rating makes Gbamin extremely strong in tackles. Additionally, he has a pace rating of 77, which provides him with a huge advantage over Javi Martinez, who, while having better overall stats, often arrives just a bit too late.

- Marcel Sabitzer (81): This year, no one can surpass James Rodríguez in the number ten position. But Marcel Sabitzer, despite the 81 overall rating, secures the first place among the followers. The Leipzig player is a great playmaker and is also extremely dangerous in front of goal. He also shines at set pieces like free kicks or corners. And since the fourth TOTW, there is also a really strong special card from Sabitzer that raises his overall rating to 84. A big jump.

- Axel Witsel (82): The Dortmund newcomer performs similarly to Gbamin very well defensively, but can also show solid values in passing, shooting, and dribbling. In short: Witsel is an all-rounder who can help you in any situation.

Surprisingly strong players in defense
- Kevin Vogt (80): In overall rating, Vogt significantly falls short compared to stars like Hummels, Boateng, Naldo, and many others. However, the defender from Hoffenheim is a real insider tip in defense: fast, physically strong, and extremely affordable.

- Niklas Süle (84): Süle has been a popular alternative for years, and even in FIFA 19, the young defender is a safe choice. Süle is tall, strong in the air, and physically hard to beat. The only downside is a bit of a lack of agility.

- Jérôme Roussillon (78): There are hardly any good full-backs available in the Bundesliga. However, Roussillon from VfL Wolfsburg performs extremely well: In both defense and physicality, Roussillon shines but can also create significant pressure in attacks down the wing.

With these players, you can build a powerful Bundesliga team that, while not having very high ratings, still plays excellently. You can find more tips for your Ultimate Team season here:
