The “Guinness Book of Records” has recognized an 88-year-old Chinese man as the oldest male gamer.
Who is it about? Yang Binglin is from China and has worked for years in scientific research and engineering related to oil and gas drilling in southern Sichuan.
After finishing work in 1996, he started gaming: first with some small games, later titles like Tomb Raider, Resident Evil, Sniper, and various puzzle games were added.
Currently, his collection consists of more than 500 games, which he claims to have played.

In a conversation with the “Guinness Book of Records”, he explained that he sticks strictly to his daily routine: he always gets up at the same time, goes to the supermarket at the same time, and always starts gaming at 3:00 PM. Exceptions only occur when he is traveling.
Also noteworthy: He takes notes alongside his games and documents strategies, insights, and completion times for each game.
Why did he want to win the title? He explained that it was a conscious decision made together with his grandchildren to receive the title from the “Guinness Book of Records.” Because with it, he can show other older people that they can also play and that age should not matter in gaming.
