The game Echo of Soul may find its end on July 15, 2022, as the agreement between the publisher Gamigo and the developer Nvius expires. Players hope for a new publisher to take over the MMORPG.
The free-to-play MMORPG Echo of Soul was first released in September 2013 in South Korea, shortly thereafter in China. The western servers launched in 2015, initially with their own client and later also with a Steam version.
Hope for a new publisher
Gamigo published a statement on their website regarding the imminent end of the MMORPG. Nevertheless, they mention the possibility of transferring the anonymous game information to another publisher at a later date, should someone be found. Currently, there is no one.
Players are therefore advised to regularly check the website as well as their emails for news. Why Gamigo does not want to take over Echo of Soul themselves is not revealed in their statement (via EchoOfSoul).
As the game takes its final steps for the time being, the publisher has already disabled the real money currency Aeria Points. If a player still has points left, they will remain available should the game continue, according to Gamigo.

Players probably won’t have to start over again
There have been several versions of Echo of Soul. On Steam, the MMORPG was available from 2015 to 2020. When the Steam version ended, the game saves were not transferred. Players were required to create a new account and thus lost all their progress.
This fate should not affect the current players of Echo of Soul. Game saves could be retained and transferred to the future publisher.
