What is Lineage? Lineage takes place in a medieval fantasy world where you do not pursue a specific goal. You hunt monsters or help your lord (a player character) manage or besiege castles. The successor Lineage 2 focuses on PvP.
You have five classes available in Lineage. In Lineage 2, there are only two: fighters and mages. However, Lineage 2 offers 31 professions that you can choose at specific levels.
This is how active the community is: No concrete statement can be made about the player numbers as no clear sources are available. Complicating matters is that Lineage 2 has many private servers that are not officially operated. At least Lineage 2 seems to still have several thousand players according to players and fan pages.
Both games are still actively played, but while Lineage is still popular in Asia, Lineage 2 is significantly more represented in Europe and America.
Are there still updates? Lineage only receives sporadic updates and new events. However, Lineage 2 is regularly supplied with content, which, however, sometimes appears in the form of new items in the cash shop. (“pay-to-win”) Additionally, Lineage 2 Revolution offers a mobile variant of the game.

Lineage is worth it for you if
