The director and producer Naoki Yoshida announced in a stream the cooperation between Final Fantasy XIV and Nier Automata. Players will be able to receive outfits and weapons from Nier as rewards during the crossover event.
What is Nier Automata? Nier Automata is a single-player action RPG created in collaboration between Square Enix and Platinum Games. It features a tragic story that spans several different plotlines and endings.
The combat system is dynamic and packed with cool moves and stylish abilities, as is often the case with the spectacle brawlers from Platinum Games.

What will the crossover event be about? Due to a malfunction at a access point, 9S and 2B are teleported to Eorzea. Upon arrival, they find out that the access point is broken on the other side and must be repaired before they can return to their world.
They depend on the support of the Warrior of Light, who helps them navigate the unfamiliar world. In their search for replacement parts for the access point, they will encounter some big surprises because 9S and 2B are not the only androids who have ended up in Eorzea.
What rewards will there be? For successfully completing the quest, players will receive outfits from 9S and 2B as well as Pod 042 as a companion. Additionally, each job in Final Fantasy XIV will receive a weapon designed after Nier Automata for the associated daily quests.
When will the event take place? An exact date is not yet known, but according to producer Yoshida, fans should keep an eye out for early December 2018.
