In Fortnite: Battle Royale, a young boy invented his own skin. This outfit is now in the game, and the boy’s father released a heartwarming video of his son’s first reaction.
The backstory of the “Chicken Trooper”: A while ago, young Fortnite fan Connor painted a rather simple picture of a “Chicken Trooper” and asked Epic to make it into a real skin.
Connor’s father took his son’s request seriously and uploaded the picture on Reddit, where it gained over 40,000 upvotes and various artists refined it. In the end, Epic responded and actually integrated the skin into the game under the name “Tender Defender”.
Skin inventor is thrilled
This is how little Connor reacts to “his” skin: After Connor’s father learned about the skin, he staged a scene in the living room and had his whole family come together. He announced that he would buy a skin and his son could choose it. However, they wanted to wait until the shop update.
At that time, Connor likely did not yet know that “his skin” was officially in the game, and the boy’s reaction is correspondingly heartwarming. When Connor finally sees the “Tender Defender”, he can’t contain his excitement and beams from ear to ear. He keeps shouting, “We’re buying it!”
Chicken Trooper brings no luck to its inventor: Immediately, Connor jumped into the fight and the whole family admired the extremely funny chicken glider that comes with the set. However, the cool new skin likely distracted its “creator” too much.
In his excitement, Connor ran unarmed around Tilted Towers and was immediately eliminated. “Do you realize that you just killed a content creator?” his father remarked wryly.
How to get the skin? The Tender Defender is available for 1,500 V-Bucks in the shop when it is back in daily rotation. When this will be, however, is not known.
