Fallen into the color pot

Another characteristic you can use to distinguish Pokémon is a color difference. For most pocket monsters that this applies to, you have to look closely, just like with size. For example, female Garados have white whiskers, while males have blue ones. The same goes for Doduo and Dodrio: The necks of males are black, while those of females are beige.
Fortunately, there are some Pokémon where the color clearly indicates at first glance what gender it is. In Hippopotas, the color scheme is reversed: The male specimens are mostly light beige, while the females are dark brown. The difference in Quabbel is also immediately recognizable, as the males are blue, and the females are pink.
