What is it about? Teenager Subaru Natsuki suddenly lands in a fantasy world. His only ability is a special one: whenever he dies, he rewinds time to an unpredictable checkpoint. He retains all his painful memories while the rest of the world forgets everything.
Season 4 will cover the Vollachia Arc, the seventh arc of the light novel. In it, Subaru is separated from his friends. He awakens in an empire characterized by militarism. A brutal power struggle for the throne is raging there, and Subaru must survive without his usual allies.
Why is it worth a look? In Re:Zero, the isekai genre is similarly deconstructed, showcasing extremely realistic and traumatic experiences for the human psyche. The protagonist repeatedly experiences being brutally murdered or losing loved ones around him. This has a profound effect on him. Expect about 2 cours, or around 25 episodes.
