What is it about? The little girl Coco lives in a world where magic is omnipresent. Unfortunately, this young girl does not have the gift of using magic and therefore cannot become a witch. However, this changes abruptly when she meets the traveling wizard Qifrey.
Thanks to him, Coco discovers that magic is not innate, but is drawn using special magical ink and tools. Theoretically, anyone could become a wizard or witch. So Coco tries it herself, but accidentally involves her mother in an accident: she becomes petrified.
Now it’s up to Coco to lift the curse from her mother. To do this, she apprentices under Qifrey and has to learn to handle magic.
Why is it worth a look? The anime stands out at first glance due to its adorably sweet aesthetics. Everything seems like a Ghibli fairy tale. However, the story touches on serious and dark themes. The manga adaptation was highly acclaimed by many.
