What is it about? Ame-chan is a young yet unstable girl who dropped out of school and suffers from a tremendous need for recognition. Her biggest dream is to become her alter ego OMGkawaiiAngel, the most successful streamer in the world.
She is supported by her manager and partner, who is only referred to as P. Over time, Ame-chan must learn that success also has a dark side. She constantly faces pressure to perform, has to deal with toxic internet culture, engages in parasocial relationships, and lives with the risk of being driven insane by insatiable addiction to likes, clicks, and donations.
Why is it worth a look? The anime is based on the indie game Needy Streamer Overload from 2022. The game was so well received by fans that we can also expect an exciting anime adaptation. Especially the quirky art style and the unvarnished look at modern internet culture are worth a watch. Expect around 13 episodes.
