The third season of 7 vs. Wild has started, but some fans are dissatisfied with the video quality of the first episode.
What is 7 vs. Wild?
- This is a survival show by YouTuber Fritz Meinecke, in which participants are supposed to survive in the wilderness for several days.
- The candidates are responsible for food gathering and building a shelter and can only rely on pre-packaged items.
- After the first season was shot in Sweden and the second season on a tropical island, season three will take the participants to Canada.
- Season 3 of 7 vs. Wild started on October 31 at 00:00
Another major difference from previous seasons is the broadcasting platform of the series. While in previous years, the premiere of a new episode was always on YouTube, this time the first broadcast will take place on Amazon’s streaming service “Freevee.”
On Freevee, you can still watch the episodes for free, but each episode has fixed advertising breaks. On YouTube, the first episode will be broadcast about a month later, on November 29.
Praise for the episode despite criticism of video quality
What do the fans say? On social media, some fans of the survival series report that there were technical issues shortly after the start of the broadcast. The image quality was reportedly very poor.
- “Pixel power at its highest level. You can hardly watch it in this quality. Hope episode two is played out better (via Twitter).”
- “Just as I wished! I’m super happy, aside from the video quality – but that will surely be good tomorrow (via Reddit).”
- “Absolutely terrible quality. You can hardly see anything. 320p or what? Embarrassing (via Twitter).”

- “Very nice cut. […] But the Amazon Freevee resolution was surprisingly low (via Reddit).”
Currently, however, it seems that the problems with the video quality have been resolved. At least we could not detect any resolution breakdowns while testing by skipping through the episode.
Who is participating in 7 vs. Wild this time? Unlike in previous seasons, there will be seven teams consisting of two people each this time, who will be dropped in the wild for 14 days.
In season three, there are again many participants you might know from the German Twitch or YouTube scene. This includes well-known streamers like Trymacs, Rumathra, Papaplatte, and Rezze.

However, streamer MontanaBlack is not participating, even though he received an invitation from Fritz Meinecke early on. He was supposed to form a team with his buddy ELoTRiX, but he declined to participate:
