The Twitch streamer LetsHugo fought his way through Season 4 of 7 vs. Wild this year. In a statement video, he reveals how bad he really was doing.
Attention: This article contains spoilers for 7 vs. Wild episode 9 and the preceding episodes.
How far has LetsHugo come? Contestant LetsHugo has endured 7 days out of 14 in 7 vs. Wild. Then, in the middle of the night, he pressed the first Code Red in the history of 7 vs. Wild. The rescue team of the organizers saved him and brought him to the hospital that same night.
Until now, nothing was known about the further course and his health condition. Now the contestant has released a video that he recorded a few hours after his hospital stay. There he talks about his health condition and the rescue from the wilderness.
Who is LetsHugo actually? You can learn more about the contestant here:
Rescue and the Situation in the Camp
How did the Code Red come about? In the video on YouTube, LetsHugo explains that he had been suffering from heartburn for days. Even though the other contestants like survival expert Joe Vogel encouraged him, it did not get better. On top of that, there was a lot of smoke that the contestant inhaled while at the campfire.
On the night of the pickup, the contestant complained, according to his own statement, of pain in the abdominal area, extreme heartburn, and a lot of mucus in his mouth that he continuously had to spit out. The situation worsened, and he climbed out of the airplane for fresh air.
Here also begins the footage known from the series. LetsHugo shaking by the campfire and the other contestants worrying until pressing the red button.

How did the rescue take place? When the response team reached the camp, the doctor took care of LetsHugo. The Luxembourger was taken to the car by the rescue team after a quick check. From there, he went to the production base, where further treatment took place.
According to LetsHugo, the blood sugar level was also measured there, and it was reportedly 32. According to the website helios-gesundheit.de, a value below 60 mg/dl is too low, which can trigger “symptoms such as inner restlessness, trembling, concentration difficulties, hunger attacks, sweating, weak knees, speech disorders, aggressiveness, or confusion.”
The production company, together with series founder Fritz Meinecke, decided to take the contestant to the next hospital. The drive took 90 minutes according to LetsHugo and was a torment for the contestant. In the video, he tells that it was all downhill for him during the drive and that he could no longer hold himself up on his feet.

Here’s How It Went Further In The Hospital
What did the doctors say in the hospital? After surviving the drive to the hospital, LetsHugo was examined by the doctors there. In the video, the contestant describes that all blood values were bad. Above all, the Luxembourger was dehydrated, which surprised him.
Against dehydration, LetsHugo was given two “bags” of saline solution in the hospital. The doctors clarified further questions, especially regarding a potential poisoning; the Luxembourger was questioned about it. The treatment in the hospital lasted 10 hours before LetsHugo was temporarily discharged.
At a follow-up appointment the next day, the doctors also found very poor liver values in the contestant, which were treated there.
What does the contestant think about his exit? LetsHugo considers his exit, 13 hours after it happened, justified. In the video, he says, “I really had hellish pain” and believes he did not press the red button too early.
The Luxembourger is proud of his achievement of being part of “7 vs. Wild” for seven days and also says he would participate again if the format were limited to seven days and it were not cold at the suspension site.
LetsHugo was the first contestant of 7 vs. Wild to trigger a Code Red.
