What kind of event is it? This weekend a live event for the GO Fest in Berlin takes place in Pokémon GO. Ticket holders can hunt special spawns for an entire day.
Even though there is currently little information on the Pokémon you can catch during the event, you should already consider which of the announced monsters are particularly important to you. Below, we have created an overview of which 7 monsters are especially worthwhile.
When is the live event? The GO Fest in Berlin will take place from July 1 to July 3, each day between 11:00 AM and 6:00 PM local time in Britzer Garten Berlin. If you have an “Early Access” ticket, you can start catching two hours earlier.
The 7 strongest monsters for the GO Fest in Berlin
During the live event in Berlin, ticket holders will have the chance to encounter various monsters in the wild and in raids. You should definitely secure one or two specimens for use in raids or the GO Battle League.

Darkrai
What kind of Pokémon is this? Darkrai is a mysterious Pokémon from the 4th generation. It belongs to the Dark type and has no pre-evolutions or evolutions. During the GO Fest in Berlin, you can find it in exclusive level-5 raids.
Why is catching it worthwhile? Darkrai scores with a very high attack value, and its stamina and defense are also impressive. With Standpauke and Finsteraura, it deals significant damage to the opponent, which makes it one of the best attackers in Pokémon GO.
Is there Shiny Darkrai? Yes, with a bit of luck, you can catch a Shiny Darkrai. You can recognize it by its purple body.
Cresselia
What kind of Pokémon is this? Cresselia is a legendary Psychic Pokémon from the 4th generation. Like most legendary monsters, it has no pre-evolutions or evolutions. For the GO Fest in Berlin, you will find it as a raid boss in level-5 raids.
Why is catching it worthwhile? Cresselia excels particularly with its strong defense and stamina. While its attack is somewhat weaker, it is well-suited for your team in the GO Battle League.
Especially in the Ultra League, it performs excellently with a moveset of Psychoklinge, Strauchler, and Mondgewalt. It can also hold its own in the Great League.
Is there Shiny Cresselia? Yes, Cresselia can also be caught in its shiny form. This is distinguished by its yellow-green tail, green wings, and purple body compared to the normal form.
Geronimatz
What kind of Pokémon is this? The Pokémon Geronimatz comes from the 5th generation and belongs to the Normal and Flying types. It can evolve into Washakwil with 50 candies. During the GO Fest in Berlin, it spawns during the habitat “Windy Desert”.
Why is catching it worthwhile? Geronimatz has a strong evolution. Washakwil, in particular, can score with high attack and stamina values. With Air Cutter, it also has a powerful quick attack. Therefore, Washakwil is one of the best flying attackers in the game.
Furthermore, you will not find Geronimatz in the wild outside of events. It typically hatches from eggs and is found in rewards from research tasks or the GO Battle League. Occasionally, it is also found in raids.
Is there Shiny Geronimatz? Yes, you can also catch Geronimatz as Shiny. You can recognize it by its brown body.
Sichlor
What kind of Pokémon is this? The Bug and Flying Pokémon Sichlor comes from the 1st generation. It can evolve into Scherox. You can find this Pokémon during the GO Fest in Berlin in the habitat “Lively Meadow”.
Why is catching it worthwhile? Sichlor has a really good evolution in Scherox. The monster not only belongs to the Bug type but also to the Steel type, enabling more flexible usage. It also impresses with a high attack value.
Furthermore, one of the recent finds by PokeMiners shows two new monsters that have been coded into the game. One of the Pokémon is Axantor, a further evolution of Sichlor from the 8th generation. Should this be released into the game soon, it may be helpful to have a strong Sichlor and enough candies ready.
Is there Shiny Sichlor? Yes, with a bit of luck, you may encounter a shiny specimen. You can recognize it by its thin, pink legs and slightly greener body.
Koknodon
What kind of Pokémon is this? Koknodon is a Rock Pokémon from the 4th generation. It can evolve into Rameidon. While searching during the habitat “Melted Rock”, keep an eye out for the little dinosaur.
Why is catching it worthwhile? Rameidon, the evolution of Koknodon, scores with excellent attack and stamina values. With its moveset of Catapult and Rock Slide, it also inflicts a lot of damage on opponents. Thus, it is one of the best Rock attackers in the game.
Is there Shiny Koknodon? Yes, you can recognize the shiny Koknodon by its gray-brown body and the red markings on its back.
Flampion
What kind of Pokémon is this? Flampion is a Fire Pokémon from the 5th generation. It can evolve into Flampivian with 50 candies. It also has a Galar variant that will not be available to catch during the GO Fest. You can find the Fire Pokémon in the habitat “Melted Rock”.
Why is catching it worthwhile? Flampion is not the strongest monster itself, but it has a strong evolution. Flampivian can score particularly well with its attack and stamina values. Thus, it secures a spot among the top 10 fire attackers in Pokémon GO.
Is there Shiny Flampion? Yes, Flampion can be caught in its shiny version. You can recognize it by its pink body.
Onix
What kind of Pokémon is this? Onix is a Rock and Ground Pokémon from the 1st generation. It can evolve into Stahlos. Like Koknodon and Flampion, you can also find Onix during the GO Fest in Berlin in the habitat “Melted Rock”.
Why is catching it worthwhile? Stahlos, the evolution of Onix, is particularly interesting for the GO Battle League. The Pokémon has a strong defense value and is well-equipped in the Ultra League with its moveset of Dragon Tail, Bite, and Earthquake.
Furthermore, Stahlos has a temporary evolution, which is interesting for use in raids.
Is there Shiny Onix? Yes, the shiny Onix can be recognized by its green body.

More interesting Pokémon for the GO Fest in Berlin
In addition to the strong specimens, you can also expect to see some new Shiny Pokémon as well as a few rare or regional Pokémon during the GO Fest in Berlin that you should also secure. So make sure to look out for the following monsters:
Tarnpignon: This Pokémon from the 5th generation is of the Grass and Poison types. It celebrates its Shiny debut at the GO Fest in Berlin, making its shiny form available for the first time in the habitat “Electric Garden”.
If you want a shiny specimen, you shouldn’t overlook Tarnpignon. You can recognize it by the blue area on top of its head.
Perlu: The Water Pokémon Perlu comes from the 3rd generation. It can evolve into Aalabyss and Saganbyss randomly. Therefore, you should collect plenty of Perlu to increase the chances of evolving into both forms. Additionally, you might even encounter a Shiny.
Sodamak and Vegimak: Two regional Pokémon that you can catch at the GO Fest in Berlin are Sodamak and Vegimak. Sodamak, which is of the Water type, evolves into Sodachita and is usually only found in America and Greenland. You can recognize it by its blue head and blue hair and ears.
On the other hand, Vegimak is native to the Pacific region and Asia. The Pokémon of the Grass type has the evolution Vegichita and can be easily recognized by its green body. Currently, however, there are no shiny variants of Sodamak and Vegimak in the game.
Even if both Pokémon and their evolutions are not particularly strong, you should secure them at the GO Fest at least for entry in the Pokédex. As they are regional, you won’t find them outside of special events in Germany.

Grillmak: In addition to Sodamak and Vegimak, there is also Grillmak. This small Fire Pokémon is native to Europe, which is why you can sometimes find it in the game. However, Grillmak will also be available in its Shiny variant for the first time during the live event in Berlin.
So if you want to be among the first to catch a shiny Grillmak, you shouldn’t miss this opportunity. You can recognize it by its orange body.
Icognito: During the GO Fest in Berlin, different Icognito will spawn in the wild. The announced forms are A, B, E, L, R, S, and T. You should definitely catch these. This Psychic Pokémon from the 2nd generation is usually very rare in the wild.

Snorlax with Cowboy Hat: The Normal Pokémon Snorlax also spawns in the wild during the GO Fest in Berlin, dressed in a special cowboy hat.
With a bit of luck, you may even secure the special costumed Pokémon in its Shiny variant. You can recognize it by its dark blue body. Furthermore, Snorlax is also suitable as a good gym defender.
