The MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) has a vast game world with a large number of quests. Our author Larissa Then has compiled her 7 favorite missions in a list for you.
I have been playing ESO since the beta. With more or less long breaks in between, I have never completely left the MMORPG. This is mainly due to the vibrant game world. I really enjoy questing. Much more than running through dungeons or trials. Recently, I even discovered my love for role-playing in ESO.
Over the years, many missions have stayed in my memory. If I had to smile or had tears in my eyes during a quest, I love to experience it a second or third time with another character.
What will you find in this list? Here I would like to introduce you to 7 of my favorite quests or quest-lines. The order doesn’t matter. I will also try to keep it as spoiler-free as possible. If you want to see the complete quest progression, you can do so via an attached video.
1. Into the Woods
What kind of quest is this? The quest “Into the Woods” starts in Kalthafen with a chase. I find that quite annoying every time. You need to use a light to follow the shadow runners. That’s fine and all, but I regularly lose them because I have to fight or I am just too stupid.
If you manage that, it goes on to the follow-up quest. And for that, you have to choose one of two paths. Either you help the wood elves or the lamias, who will support you in return.
What do I like about this quest? This mission starts off annoyingly, but it has not left a negative impression on me. The fascinating part is the decision at the end. You listen to the arguments of both sides. And strangely, I generally sympathize with the lamias, who do not seem to me to be the monsters they are portrayed as.
2. A Homely Happiness
What kind of quest is this? The mission is called “A Homely Happiness” and is found in Elsweyr. It’s all about the iconic Razum-dar. He is an agent and already known from Summerset as “Queen’s Eye”.
You need to help him find missing persons and defend the vineyards against wild animals. Along the way, you encounter humorous dialogues between Raz, his family, and friends.
What do I like about this quest? The quest itself is not particularly innovative. You need to follow clues and fight monsters. But everything around it makes the story unique. And also really funny.
You travel with an important person, and his entire previous environment is unaware of it. Everyone thinks Raz is a good-for-nothing. Apparently, he has even promised someone a wedding, which now catches up with him – oops.
3. The Madness of Two Moons
What kind of quest is this? In “The Madness of Two Moons”, you help the priests of the two moons in Elsweyr avoid madness. You encounter an Alfiq who seems to be responsible for it. You must play along with his game to avert the madness.
Along the way, you have to complete some minor harmless tasks. For example, preventing the priests from stabbing their eyes out with a stinky fork.
What do I like about this quest? The cat’s quips are simply really funny. There is a good portion of dark humor in the dialogues that I really enjoy.
Also, the Alfiq is wonderfully insane. The visions he causes, which guide the priests, lead them to really dumb ideas. Behind the little Alfiq, in the end, is even an old acquaintance.
On the second page, there are 4 more cool quests for you!
