Deadside
This is Deadside: Deadside is a multiplayer survival shooter with a high demand for realism in an open world. Initially, it looks somewhat reminiscent of DayZ, SCUM, or Will to Live.
Unlike many representatives of the genre with an open world, you won’t find any supernatural enemies like zombies, mutated animals, or rogue machines. Instead, the environment and other humans pose the greatest danger.
A deeper story is yet to be known. You apparently play as a survivor in a failed world and have to fend for yourself. There will be specific zones, hubs where you can trade, accept tasks, or team up with other players. A building system might also be on the way.
Survival is tough in Deadside: Since Deadside places a strong emphasis on realism, survival can accordingly be quite harsh and depends on many factors. Various weapons behave realistically, vehicles need to be fueled, and ammunition and other resources are apparently scarce.
When you’re out in the world searching for new items, you might encounter cannibals in the wilderness who seem to be the greatest threat.
Otherwise, your survival depends on how well you can handle realistic weapons and how effectively you can scavenge for supplies.
What we expect from Deadside:
- Difficult gunplay and diverse weapons
- Realistic hit feedback, ricochets, and cover
- Focus on gameplay, less on story
- A multiplayer experience for smaller player groups
When and where does Deadside come out? Deadside was originally supposed to enter Early Access in 2019 but is now set to come out in the first quarter of 2020. It is coming for PC on Steam.
