This is Away: Away: The Survival Series is one of our hidden gems for survival games of 2020. The game takes a completely different approach to the survival genre, as you play as a sugar glider, a small creature that wants to survive in the wild.
Away: The Survival Series focuses on exploration, survival, and the environment. It is somewhat reminiscent of the feelings evoked by documentaries.
Particularly planned are long travels, as you should be able to navigate on foot, be picked up by larger animals, or glide great distances – after all, you are a “glider”.
Survival is tough in Away: One of your main tasks will be searching for food. As one of the smallest creatures in the area, you primarily feed on bugs and other insects.
Your size also brings dangers, as you are very close to the bottom of the food chain. Larger predators will often see you as a small snack, and you must escape from them.
Much skill is required. We don’t know much about the gameplay yet, but it sounds like seeking cover and quick escapes will be core features in this area. Additionally, you might occasionally find yourself in conflict with similarly sized opponents like scorpions and have to prove your fighting skills.
Moreover, the world is not just idyllic. Some ruins that resemble old factories present tricky jumping puzzles, and disasters like wildfires destroy your habitat, forcing you to flee.
