WoW Classic – Release of Burning Crusade
Genre: MMORPG | Developer: Blizzard | Platform: PC | Release Date: August 26, 2019 | Model: Pay-to-Play
What type of game is it? WoW Classic or “Vanilla” is World of Warcraft as it was released in 2004. You start with significantly fewer classes, playable races, and areas. Additionally, the level cap currently stands at level 60, and reaching it is notably slower and more challenging than in Retail WoW.
For many players, Classic was the only true WoW, which is why a return to the roots was desired. Blizzard fulfilled this request in 2019 by bringing out the special servers.
Now, in 2021, the first expansion Burning Crusade is on the horizon.
Here are the highlights of WoW Classic
Classic is based on the original version of WoW and offers many familiar but also beloved contents:
- There are only the old areas in Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms that can be explored
- The Alliance and Horde each have only 4 playable races
- Raids like Molten Core or Naxxramas can be visited in their old form
With the release of Burning Crusade Classic, the world of Classic is also divided:
- You can choose to stay in WoW Classic with your character and continue to play on servers where the max level is 60.
- You can progress to Burning Crusade Classic and explore the shattered world, level to 70, and try out the new races Draenei and Blood Elves.
Here’s why you should play WoW Classic in June
On June 2, Burning Crusade Classic began, and you can continue your adventure beyond level 60. In the shattered world, exciting new quests, dungeons, and factions await you, where you can gain reputation.
Furthermore, iconic raids like Karazhan, Black Temple, or Sunwell Plateau will return over time.
If you want to jump in right away, you can already play the pre-patch today. Additionally, there is a level boost to level 58 that can be used once to catch up directly to players in Burning Crusade. However, this boost, the character copy, and the deluxe edition have been criticized by some WoW fans.
