Neverwinter – Major Rework and New Class
Genre: MMORPG | Developer: Cryptic Studios | Platform: PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S | Release Date: April 30, 2013 | Model: Free-to-Play
What kind of game is this? Neverwinter is an MMORPG based on the world of Dungeons & Dragons. In the game, you have the choice among different races and classes to explore the game world.
A city serves as the hub from which you will repeatedly venture into other instanced areas. There is no completely open game world like those offered by WoW or ESO. Further, it is a very linear theme park MMORPG.
These are the highlights of Neverwinter
Neverwinter is excellent for solo but also group players. It impresses with a good story and the following contents:
- An action-packed combat system
- An interesting character development that is typical of D&D
- A variety of content told in various modules
- PvP in special areas
- It offers classic Western fantasy

Why you should play Neverwinter in August
On July 27, the new module 21 was released. This made major changes to the game, benefiting especially newcomers:
- There was a significant level squish from 80 down to level 20. Additionally, you no longer increase levels by accumulating XP, but through progress in the story. With this, Neverwinter aims to return more to its D&D roots.
- Some old zones and content will be “out-sourced”. They will be removed from the leveling process and are expected to return later in an updated form.
- The new Bard class has been introduced.
Previously, Neverwinter was already one of the best MMORPGs for newcomers to the genre, and the patch is said to have further improved the experience. With the free-to-play model, you can try Neverwinter with little effort, although you will be regularly and somewhat persistently prompted with offers in the shop.
Neverwinter, itself, primarily targets fans of action-packed fights and, of course, the world of Dungeons & Dragons. However, even players who have had no prior contact with this world can have a lot of fun in the MMORPG. However, the graphics are somewhat outdated.
