7 guilds fail against the current WoW end boss, now comes a huge nerf

The current final boss of World of Warcraft is too hard. For days, the professional guilds have been failing against Azshara. Now a nerf is coming that could signal the end.

Queen Azshara has proven to be quite a tough final boss in World of Warcraft, at least in the mythical mode. The big professional guilds like Limit and Method have already racked up several hundred attempts and are barely managing to bring Azshara to 50% of her health. However, the subsequent phase transition has so far almost always spelled death.

What is the problem? The battle against Queen Azshara has many phases where there is a lot to keep track of. Especially the third phase is currently nearly impossible to clear. Additional enemies (adds) appear here, which must be defeated quickly.

There are only 2 minutes for this, as after that the adds go into an enrage and kill the raid within seconds. The adds also enrage when Azshara drops to 50% health, initiating the next phase.

This is also the reason why the best pulls of the guilds Method and Limit are at around 50% remaining health of Azshara and little progress is being made.

This is how Blizzard plans to improve things: Meanwhile, the developers have announced a clear nerf for Azshara. They are increasing the enrage timer for the adds that appear in the fight to 3 minutes. This gives raid groups a full minute more time to defeat the respective enemies and prepare for the phase transition. This should result in the adds rarely going into an enrage – unless Azshara reaches the magical 50% threshold too early.

Is that enough to defeat Azshara? Whether the nerf is enough to finally bring Azshara down will likely be shown in a few hours. However, it should not be forgotten that the Naga lady still has around 50% of her health remaining and that the professional guilds need to master further mechanics in the last phase. In any case, the nerf should ensure that the guilds can soon push well below the 50% mark.
