What is the anime about? Lucy is a Diclonius. She possesses invisible arms, also known as vectors, with which she can effortlessly kill others. She manages to escape from a research facility, leaving a bloody mess behind.
During her escape, she injures her head and suffers from amnesia. She becomes a harmless person who is found by student Kouta. However, Lucy’s dark secret quickly comes to light.
Why should the hero have been dead? In this case, Kouta is one of the protagonists who finds Lucy when she suffers from memory loss. Had the Diclonius not injured her head, she would have made short work of Kouta.
Because before her encounter with Kouta, Lucy was driven only by a thirst for murder. She would not have made an exception for Kouta – if he hadn’t shown her what love and friendship mean. His luck is that he got a chance to stay alive because of Lucy’s amnesia.
