A 69-year-old Guardian is having trouble navigating Destiny 2. After discussing her uncertainties on Reddit, the other Guardians immediately came to her aid. The community provides numerous tips and advice to help the returning player get back into the game.
Live service games that are actively developed over several years accumulate a lot of content. This also applies to Destiny 2. Bungie develops new expansions for the loot shooter on an annual basis, bringing new campaigns, new locations, and class changes.
For newcomers and returning players, it can be quite challenging to keep track. There is a lot of content, plus daily or weekly tasks to complete.
A 69-year-old Guardian has now taken the plunge. However, with the sheer amount of new content, she quickly lost track and asked for help on Reddit. The community’s response is touching; many Guardians immediately offered her advice and assistance.

The Guardian with the Reddit username u/schragae wrote a post titled “An old lady says hello” (via reddit.com). There she described her situation in detail. Back in 2019, she played quite a bit of Destiny. But then her father passed away, and she lost interest.
However, her son apparently managed to convince her to give the loot shooter another chance. She tried “Shadowkeep” and became hooked immediately. Still, she has many questions that other returning players might also have: Which weapons should I use? How do I find good gear and which resources should I farm?
The community then shares many tips and tricks; some Guardians refer to specific YouTube guides or websites.
My condolences regarding your father. My wife and I also lost a family member last year.
Do things that you enjoy! Sometimes it’s enough to seek your own challenges. The sense of accomplishment is worth it. But you can also explore the environment and enjoy the music. Or you can just slay everything that moves!
What’s important is that you choose skills and weapons that you enjoy. I’m not very good with hand cannons or snipers, so I rarely use them… Sometimes I try to practice with them, but mostly I just use the weapons that I’m good with. Everyone has their own favorites.

I am also an older lady (65) and often play with people who are all over 50. You can find me in the game under this name […] I’ve been playing since Destiny 1, day 1 on Xbox, and I love this game.
