Destiny 2 has revamped its former Trials of the Nine weapons for Season 15 and added them as new loot in the Prophecy dungeon. These weapons have become a real insider tip and the best reason to visit the dungeon again.
Many consider the Prophecy dungeon to be one of the coolest in Destiny. It came completely unexpected, was available for free and, more importantly, is astonishingly visually appealing.
- Neonpop design meets a largely unknown space race.
- Endlessly sandy plains showing the lost planets of Destiny 2.
- A world turned upside down, and you will be tossed around in it.
- And last but not least, a Sparrow course on fabric bands that is unrivaled.
Bungie has created some really quirky things in this dungeon, and while playing, you encounter surreal worlds that have no problem with striking neopop colors. Also, the original trailer for the activity is a real Destiny 2 gameplay treat. Who still remembers it?
Bungie initially stumbled in the dungeon loot: Unfortunately, the loot you could earn there until Season 15 did not do justice to this creative location at all. There were Daito Forge armor and the reissue of the “Trials of the Nine” armor, which also visually matched the dungeon.
But the weapons were unfortunately recycled, like the IKELOS_SF shotgun or the Death Adder (also known as the Hermit Spider 2.0).
All basically good weapons that many players wanted to earn again, but only because of their former glory days in Destiny 2. They didn’t become really important for the meta anymore. In the meantime, these weapons are available in the regular loot pool.
The weapons of the Nine are small insider tips
When it became known in Season 15 that Bungie had reissued the old Trials of the Nine weapons for the Prophecy dungeon, many players were delighted. Even if they are indirectly recycled weapons from Destiny 1 again. For many Destiny 2 players, they were still unknown and thus new weapons.
- The weapon optics, with the cool logo of the Nine, matched perfectly with the dungeon.
- The new loot carrots for the dungeon are now much more promising.
- Especially long-time Destiny 1 veterans had the weapons of the old Trials of the Nine well in mind. One could say that they had considered a few of these weapons multiple times.
Overall, there are six weapons that you can earn, and we will tell you in which encounter these exactly drop and what the recommended perks of the community are for PvE and PvP.
Verdict – Hand Cannon
The weapon drops for you: In the first encounter “Phalanx Echo”
“Verdict” is a legendary kinetic hand cannon with a fire rate of 140 and an adaptive frame. This means that the hand cannon has a rounded grip, making it reliable and sturdy. It is a small insider tip for hand cannon fans. Especially with time load in PvE, the weapon is a lot of fun.
- Recommended perks for PvE:
- Demolisher: Kills with this weapon generate grenade energy. Activating the grenade reloads the weapon from reserves.
- Time Load: Projectiles that stick to enemies explode after a short time.
- Recommended perks for PvP:
- Tunnel Vision: Reloading after a kill improves target acquisition and aim down sights speed.
- First Shot: Improves the accuracy and range of the first shot of the attack.
or - While Sliding: When you slide, the magazine is partially reloaded, and range and stability are improved.
- Multi-Kill Clip: Increased damage through reloading, based on the number of quick kills previously achieved.
The Long Way – Sniper Rifle
The weapon drops for you: In the first encounter “Phalanx Echo”
“The Long Way” is an energy sniper rifle that deals solar damage. It has an aggressive sniper frame, which means high damage and high recoil.
- Recommended perks for PvE:
- Clown Cartridge: Randomly overfills the magazine when reloading from reserves.
- Berserk: Once Berserk is activated, it increases damage, handling, and reload speed.
- Recommended perks for PvP:
- Surplus: Picking up special or heavy ammunition loads this weapon beyond its normal capacity.
- Snapshot Sights: It’s quicker to use the sights.
The Last Breath – Auto Rifle
The weapon drops for you: In the second encounter “The Cube”
“The Last Breath” (it is indeed “The”) is a kinetic auto rifle with a fire rate of 600 and an adaptive frame. This means it has a rounded grip, making it reliable and sturdy. It also has great handling. For small ads in PvE, it is an effective “mowing machine.” But also in endgame, to disrupt champions, a solid option.
- Recommended perks for PvE:
- Renewal: Your magazine partially and automatically reloads from reserves after a kill.
- Berserk: Once Berserk is activated, it increases damage, handling, and reload speed.
- Recommended perks for PvP:
- Murderous Wind: Increases mobility, range, and handling for a short time after a kill.
- Target Seeker: Increases effective range and zoom magnification.
A Quick Verdict – Pistol
The weapon drops for you: In the third encounter “Kell Echo”
“A Quick Verdict” is an energy pistol that deals void damage. It has a precision frame, meaning the recoil pattern is much more predictable and vertical. It may look small and cute – don’t underestimate it.
- Recommended perks for PvE:
- Fully Automatic Trigger System: The weapon fires automatically.
- Kill Clip: Reloading after a kill increases the damage.
- Recommended perks for PvP:
- Murderous Wind: Increases mobility, range, and handling for a short time after a kill.
- Target Seeker: Increases effective range and zoom magnification.
A Sudden Death – Shotgun
The weapon drops for you: In the third encounter “Kell Echo” and from the envoy Orin.
“A Sudden Death” is an energy shotgun that deals arc damage. It has an aggressive frame, meaning it hits hard, has high recoil, and increases fire rate after a kill. A wicked thing, and its name is program.
- Recommended perks for PvE:
- While Sliding: Partially reloads the magazine and temporarily increases range and stability while sliding.
- Double Punch: If an enemy is hit by each shotgun pellet of a shot, melee damage is increased for a short time.
- Recommended perks for PvP:
- Surplus (Ability): Improves handling, reload speed, and stability for each fully charged ability.
- Snapshot Sight: It’s quicker to use the sights.
Darkness Ahead – Pulse Rifle
The weapon drops for you: In the third encounter “Kell Echo”.
“Darkness Ahead” is an energy pulse rifle that deals arc damage. With the rapid-fire frame, it has larger ammunition reserves and slightly faster reload speed when the magazine empties. In PvP and endgame PvE, the weapon has proven itself, especially because you can land excellent headshots with it.
- Recommended perks for PvE:
- Surplus: Picking up special or heavy ammunition loads this weapon beyond its normal capacity.
- Rampage: Kills with this weapon cause temporarily increased damage, which is stackable three times.
- Recommended perks for PvP:
- Surplus (Ability): Improves handling, reload speed, and stability for each fully charged ability.
- Fully Automatic Trigger System: The weapon fires automatically.
There are also more small mini-raids for 3 players
There are currently three different dungeons in Destiny 2. These are thematically adapted to the respective seasons in which they were released.
The missions are popular among players because they offer not only the gameplay itself but also an additional challenge through mechanics. Aside from the fact that they are visually impressive. Dungeons are basically small mini-raids for 3 players, which are also doable solo for the ambitious.
Currently, there are three active dungeons in Destiny 2 that you can play:
- The Broken Throne (Forsaken – Available only until February 2022!)
You must try to break an ancient curse in a dark fantasy world. - The Pit of Heresy (Shadowkeep)
The dungeon takes you into the depths of the moon, into the heart of a Hive sanctum. - Prophecy Dungeon (A gift from Bungie)
You visit the planet of the Nine and learn what the Darkness really is.
In the coming seasons and the expansion “The Witch Queen,” two new dungeons will be added again. However, these are only included in the exclusive Deluxe Edition of “The Witch Queen,” which also includes all season passes for Year 5.
Prophecy weapons can be farmed
If you haven’t had the chance yet, now is the right time to make up for it. According to the current story status, it indicates that Destiny 2 players will have a bit more time in the coming weeks to farm a god roll of their preferred weapon from the dungeon. So you can casually do a few runs on the planet of the Nine.
Don’t forget the hidden chests and collectibles: In the Prophecy dungeon, you can actually receive extra loot twice if you find the hidden chests.
