The final bosses have made a name for themselves

Some have even danced their way into our hearts. Here, you will briefly receive a description of the enemy and where to find them, as well as an assessment of the difficulty of the boss fight. Afterwards, we analyze their cult factor.
1. Atheon – Memories of the Golden Age
This is who we’re talking about: Atheon, the Conflux of Time, is the final boss from the very first raid of Destiny: The Glass Vault (Vault of Glass).
This is how tough the boss fight is: To even damage Atheon, players must separate, lose more and more visibility, and a wipe mechanic punishes slow Guardians. Additionally, one player bears the responsibility for a relic shield, and waves of adds appear.
By today’s standards, the fight can be classified as medium-hard. However, at the end of 2014, no Guardian could imagine a harder experience in Destiny.
Why is Atheon cult? Atheon has been awarded the title of “the coolest boss of the past, present, and future” by most Guardians out there. Nostalgia plays a very important role in this.
Before this, shooter players had never seen anything comparable. A raid where 6 players work together, solve complex puzzles and mechanics, and in the end, this Vex Minotaur testing everything learned. Atheon is, even today, the epitome of exploration, the desire to be surprised, which Guardians chase after in Destiny.

2. Riven – This Dragon grants wishes, but whose?
This is who we’re talking about: Riven, the Thousand Voices, is a bona fide dragon lurking for players in the raid The Last Wish.
This is how tough the boss fight is: The Last Wish is the largest raid in Destiny’s history and does not skimp on challenging encounters. Riven caps this off as the final boss and can rightly be considered the toughest boss in the franchise.
Hardly any Guardian has completed the fight against the dragon through normal means. To bypass the multi-stage and incredibly difficult mechanics, players resort to Riven cheese – about which Bungie itself isn’t quite sure if it’s okay.
Why is Riven cult? When players enter Riven’s lair and the dragon reveals itself from the shadows for the first time, jaws drop – the monstrosity is the size of a skyscraper. For years, players heard tales of the dragon race. However, very few expected such a pompous encounter.
Most of the time, you only see Riven’s head and claws in the game. In (almost) full size, you can see the dragon here:
During the Forsaken revenge story and throughout the raid, Riven whispers to the player in altered voices. With the promise of fulfilling our deepest wishes, the dragon seeks to lure us. After all, Riven is the last Ahamkara, essentially Destiny’s version of a genie who also enchanted Uldren.
