In Call of Duty: Warzone, there are a few small mechanics that everyone should know who runs through the Battle Royale with a little sweat on their forehead. MeinMMO shows you 6 simple tricks that you should definitely know and use.
In Call of Duty: Warzone, you fight for epic victories in large battles. But often it is the little things and decisions that give you the advantage that leads you to the coveted Warzone victory.
MeinMMO shows you here 6 mechanics of the Battle Royale that allow you to perform certain actions in the game better and gain an edge over soldiers who are just running normally across the map and waiting for you to take a headshot.
1. Faster Heartbeat Sensor
How can I use the heartbeat sensor better? This tactical item is part of the basic equipment of many Warzone players and gives you a strong advantage over players who skip the “Ghost” perk or have not been to a loadout drop yet. You take the device out of your pocket and check the area in front of you for a few seconds.
But you can significantly reduce this time. Because when the device detects an enemy for you, you don’t have to wait for the “radar pulse” to completely run across the screen. If there are enemies in the area, you will see the meter display at the bottom. Conversely, this display is also empty if there are no enemies without “Ghost” nearby.
You only need to check the sensor briefly, and if there is no meter display, you can put it back in your pocket right away. This saves you several seconds per use, which you can use for other important Warzone actions – for example, to move faster across the map.
2. Manual Parachute Deployment
How can I improve my landings? This tip is particularly useful when you need to land quickly. So always!
By default, your parachute opens automatically when you make a full-speed dive toward the ground after jumping. While this secures your landing from hard impacts, it also helps your enemies who have already grabbed a weapon before you even hit the ground.
Go into the settings and select your input device. Under the “Movement” section, you will find the setting for “Automatic Parachute Deployment.” Set it to “Disabled” so you can decide when your parachute opens during landing.
This does take some practice and will lead to a few laughs from your team in the first few matches because you might forget. But once you master it, you can create a nearly seamless transition between parachute deployment and landing. Here you will find even more important settings in Warzone that will improve your gameplay.
3. Side Glide: The Better Parachute Flight
How can I improve my parachute flight? Your parachute not only helps you land at the start of the match, but also when you want to reach a target from higher points or simply leave a high position. With the “Side Glide,” you can significantly increase your distances traveled with the parachute.
Do not just fly straight toward your target, but turn to the side and fly sideways in the desired direction. You may lose sight of your target point, but you can cover a much greater distance than if you just glide in one direction. You descend more slowly, stay in the air longer, and thus reach the target faster.
4. Use Buy Stations Faster
How can I use buy stations better? This little trick is for PC players of Warzone.
While players on controllers can quickly make their selection at the buy station with 2 buttons, many players on the computer use their mouse to make the right selection. However, with 2 keys you can save a moment here:
- Select what you want to buy
- Press [W] to select “Yes”
- Press [Spacebar] to confirm the selection
This way you gain a small moment at the buy station that can often make the difference between getting your teammate back to the battlefield or suffering a headshot from an unknown direction. Here you will find more items that are worth buying at the buy station.
5. Perfect Cover for Loadout Drops
What can I improve about my loadout drops? To get your gear, there are 2 options in the “Battle Royale” mode of Warzone:
- You wait for the free drops at the beginning and end of a match
- You buy the supply crate at the buy station for 10,000 cash
The free drops are a solid way to get the best weapons in Warzone. However, the locations where the gifted crates drop come with a certain risk sometimes. If multiple crates drop at your spot, the danger is high that another team comes to that location and opens fire on you while you gear up. The manual drops are more expensive but also safer.
To grab the crates with the highest possible security and quickly, you can use the mechanic that allows you to access loadout drops through walls. For example, if you’re on the upper floor of a house with a flat roof, throw the marker into the room and quickly grab the crate on the roof despite there being a wall in between.
This works in many places on the map but requires a bit of practice. Sometimes the crate won’t land correctly or the roof is too high. If your crate happens to be unreachable, you can also move it with the field upgrade “Recon Drone.” The drone also works well as a mobile ammunition box.
6. Use High Movement Speed
How can I improve my movement speed? Whether fleeing from a better-positioned team, the spreading gas, or nasty killstreak attacks – sometimes you just have to run fast and get away.
Always keep 3 mechanics in mind that allow you to move faster:
- Switch to smaller weapons like SMGs or pistols – you run faster with them
- Even faster if you throw your weapon away via the inventory bar – with free hands, you run even faster
- You run very fast with a killstreak in hand and don’t have to throw away your weapon for that
Killstreaks are special items in the game that allow you to call in support, such as reconnaissance planes or a cluster strike on a specific position. Some give you an item in hand to activate.
If you have a “Precision Airstrike” in your pocket, you can quickly pull it out to sprint. When you activate it, you have binoculars in hand. You then move as fast as if you had no gun in your hand. This tip can be very helpful when dodging or during the sudden approach of the gas circle to survive the situation.
