When is the release of Red Dead Redemption 2? The game will be available starting October 26. So far, Rockstar has not specified a particular time, so one can expect a release at midnight. This is also indicated by the Microsoft Store. Launch on 26.10.2018 at 00:00.
Preload and Day-1 Patch: The preload of Red Dead Redemption 2 has already started. As Rockstar announced, there will also be a Day-1 patch.
The story is about gangsters and one’s own conscience
The story of Red Dead Redemption 2 takes place in 1899. It is the end of the Wild West, where Arthur Morgan travels the land with the gang of Dutch van der Linde. While the lawmen are rounding up the last gangs, Arthur and his gang do not want to accept that the great era of outlaws is over.
Arthur must decide whether to follow his own conscience or continue to roam with the gang he grew up with.
The single-player mode of Red Dead Redemption 2 is said to offer about 65 hours of content, although this is expected to vary based on playstyle. The focus will be on the open world and exploration.
Exploring this vast open world is an important part of Red Dead Redemption 2. You will ride into impressive places and meet interesting characters. Many locations tell their own little story.
RDR2 will only be released for PS4 and Xbox One – for now
Red Dead Redemption 2 has so far only been officially announced for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles. PC players are still left in the cold, although Rockstar emphasized how important the platform is.
However, fans still hope that Rockstar will handle RDR2 the same way it did with GTA 5. Like Grand Theft Auto 5, which was initially released only for consoles, a PC version followed later.
The mood among PC players is still tense, but a former Rockstar employee recently gave hope: he stated on the social platform LinkedIn that he had also worked on a PC port alongside the console versions of RDR2 .
Red Dead Online comes in November
The multiplayer mode of Red Dead Redemption 2, Red Dead Online, will not launch with the release of the game. The mode will follow in November as an open beta and will be available to all players who have purchased RDR2.

The online mode is expected to be regularly expanded with new content and offer activities for both group and solo players. Additionally, there will be some interesting new ways for competitive and cooperative gameplay.
Here too, players are already making comparisons with GTA Online, raising concerns that the single-player mode of RDR 2 will not receive DLC.
Leaks suggest that Red Dead Redemption might even place a much greater emphasis on the online mode than was the case with GTA 5.
There are over 50 weapons you can customize
In Red Dead Redemption 2, there are said to be over 50 unique weapons. It is unknown whether this applies only to the single-player or multiplayer mode or to both combined.

What we do know is that the weapons can be customized with different materials, finishes, or engravings. Additionally, modifications will provide different functions. These include:
- Barrels
- Grips
- Sights
- Scopes
The more a weapon is used, the better it will function. However, you should clean and oil your guns regularly. External influences such as water or mud are said to negatively impact the weapon’s effectiveness in combat.
There will also be different types of ammunition that can be purchased or crafted. This includes fragmenting, high-velocity, or explosive ammunition.
Furthermore, there will be special interactions with the weapons. They can be drawn from the holster at any time, which also influences NPC reactions. The revolvers’ chambers can be spun or the gun can be flipped around completely. Additionally, there will be special shooting techniques.
The Dead Eye system evolves in combat
The Dead Eye system is a mode that occurs in all parts of the Red Dead series. This feature temporarily slows down time during fights. This allows you to aim at your opponents calmly and take them out one by one with your gun.

In Red Dead Redemption 2, Dead Eye will evolve further throughout the story. Initially, targets are automatically selected in this mode, then you can manually place hits or shoot at will in slow motion. Finally, Dead Eye becomes even deadlier by revealing the opponents’ weak points.
By the way, in RDR2, not only has the slow motion during Dead Eye improved, but also the death sequences of the opponents, which can also be viewed in slow motion. They are meant to be dynamic and intelligent and adapt to the actions of the players to provide spectacular combat scenes.
You will have a special relationship with your horse
Horses are said to be more than just rideable mounts of the Wild West in Red Dead Redemption 2, they can drift instead of just riding normally. The animals will be represented as realistically as possible, even if this means that the developers particularly worked in detail on the horse’s genitals.

There are said to be several breeds that differ in temperament and values. They react differently to the events around them and can vary in stamina, performance, and agility.
Players will also be able to build a real relationship with their horse. This will also have effects in the game. A horse that is accustomed to you will respond better to your whistles and commands. If you have won your horse as a friend, it will also not be easily startled when things get heated during shootouts.
