The current Season 8 is coming to an end in Destiny 2. There is therefore little time left to complete certain seasonal goals. We show you where in the Season of the Undying it’s time to hurry.
When does Season 8 end? You don’t have much time left. The first season of Year 3, the Season of the Undying, ends with the Weekly Reset on December 10.
After that, Season 9, the Season of Dawn, is expected to start immediately after.
What are seasonal goals? There are certain things you only have time for during a season.
After that, you either have to start some tasks from the beginning, as they have been reset during the season change, or you may not even have the chance to achieve the goal anymore.
As Bungie has already stated, some seasonal content could disappear and make room for fresh content.
That’s why we’ll show you a few things you should finish before the current season ends.
Immortal Title and Seasonal Triumphs
With Season 8, new triumphs traditionally entered the game. Some of them can only be earned during the current Season 8 – Triumph-hunters and completionists should therefore hurry if there are still triumphs pending.
Previous titles in Destiny 2, with the exception of MMXIX from the 2019 triumph moments, are and remain available at any time.
With the titles from Year 3, it seems to be different now. While seasons still bring new titles – in Season 8 this is called Immortal – after the season ends, you will no longer be able to unlock this title. If you want to adorn your Guardians with the cosmetic addition from Season 8 and proudly showcase it for all to see, you should also hurry.

Seasonal Ranks and Rewards from the Season Pass
With Season 8, Bungie introduced a new Season Pass model, which now also includes a type of Battle Pass. Each season offers its own seasonal ranks – in Season 8 there are 100. There are two reward branches – a free one (for all players) and a premium branch (for the owners of the respective season).
At each premium level, a reward awaits – from exotics like Erinana’s Oath to resource packages to armor or cool armor ornaments in themed inspired looks, there’s quite a bit included. The free branch, however, only offers a few rewards every few levels.
If you want to grab all these rewards but haven’t reached level 100 in the seasonal rank yet, then you should slowly step on the gas and collect XP. These rewards are only available until the end of the season. After that, there will probably be a new Battle Pass with new seasonal rewards in the appropriate style.
By the way: Bungie has already announced that there will be a kind of paid catch-up system at the end of a season, where you can buy missing seasonal ranks. The system was even briefly active due to an error – one rank cost about one euro (100 silver).
So, if you don’t have time to earn the missing ranks but still desperately want to collect the rewards, you should soon be given the opportunity to do so.
Iron Banner Armor Quest
In Season 8, the Iron Banner received a new event armor set for each Guardian class. The way to obtain this armor has also changed for the Season of the Undying.
The armor pieces must be earned individually through a multi-part quest before they become available from other sources. If you have multiple characters to entertain, you must complete the quest with each of them if you want to have the complete set.
And if you’re not through with that yet, now is the time. Because the last Iron Banner of Season 8 starts on November 26. You only have until December 3 to unlock the missing armor pieces from the Iron Banner.

Weapons of the Vex Offensive
The seasonal activity Vex Offensive has 4 exclusive weapons in its loot pool:
- the Hand Cannon Optative
- the Pulse Rifle Adhortative
- the Scout Rifle Imperative
- the Submachine Gun Conjunction
These were recently supplemented by 2 weapons from the Season Pass:
The Vex Offensive now represents another source for these 2 seasonal guns if you progress far enough in the Season Pass.
These 6 weapons can be earned there with various rolls. So if you’re still missing a good roll, you should invest some more time and farm again. Because if Bungie removes this seasonal content at the end of the season, the chance for these weapons will probably be gone.
Exotic Weapons and Ritual Weapons
In Destiny 2, you have the opportunity to earn so-called Exotic Weapons. These are special legendary guns that have powerful perks.
They are almost as strong as exotics – so strong that Bungie decided to discontinue the Exotic Weapons at the start of Season 8 and instead introduced Ritual Weapons. These work similarly, but are no longer as powerful as the original Exotic Weapons.
Some Exotic and Ritual Weapons are bound to seasonal ranks – for example in the competitive PvP playlist or in Gambit. And these ranks reset at the end of a season. Although the general quest progress is maintained, if you don’t want to fight your way back up in rank next season, you should earn the necessary rank this season.
Seasonal Artifact
The seasonal artifact was introduced during the ongoing Season 8. It not only equips you with special mods – it also allows you to level up further beyond the actual maximum level – basically infinitely far.
The only limit is the end of the season. Because with the new season, these additional seasonal levels will be reset, you will either reach the max power level or the level you worked your way up to normally.
Technically, it no longer makes much sense to push the artifact level. However, some players see it as a challenge to advance it as far as they can – just to see how far they can go. If you belong to that group, you should also start hurrying. Because you don’t have much time left to continue increasing the artifact level. Time is up on December 10.
Have you completed everything important in Season 8? Or are you not stressed by the end of the season?
