The new Season 13 of Destiny 2 starts soon. But before you dive into the new content, there are still a few things you should take care of in the outgoing Season 12.
What is currently happening in Destiny 2? In a week, on February 9, the 13th Season of Destiny 2 will start; the outgoing Season of the Hunt is nearing its end.
And some Guardians may now be asking: What should I absolutely finish before the new season begins? Can I prepare in some way? Here are a few things you should keep in mind as Season 12 comes to a close.

Have you completed all this?
This time it’s different: The end of this season will be somewhat different than in past seasons. Bungie aims to act more actively against FOMO (fear of missing out) – the fear of missing something.
And many contents from Season 12 will remain in Season 13. So you don’t need to rush if, for example, you haven’t yet completed all the weapons from the Wrathborn Hunts or haven’t yet earned the exotic hand cannon, Falcon.
However, some things will still disappear with the end of Season 12. Here’s where you should start to hurry.
Redeem all Crucible tokens: The Crucible tokens will disappear with Season 13 (the ones from the Vanguard won’t yet). So if you don’t want to lose them uselessly, redeem them with Lord Shaxx and dismantle the gear you receive. Even though it may be quite inconvenient and could certainly take a while for some – at least you’ll get something useful for this vanishing currency.
Get the high-stat armor from the Season Pass: In general, if you haven’t finished your Season Pass or haven’t reached the desired level yet, you should start to hurry.
If you’ve purchased the pass, remember the seasonal armor pieces with high stats, which are available between levels 37 and 57. They can be quite worthwhile – even for future seasons. Because besides decent stats, they also have the currently highest infusion cap. However, they are often forgotten by some Guardians because some hold them back initially while playing and only want to redeem them later with a higher power level.
Spend all your materials from disappeared locations: In Destiny 2, some locations were rotated out with Beyond Light and Season 12. If you’ve hoarded materials from these locations, you can still use them for shopping with Banshee-44 in the Tower or with Spider in the Tangled Shore – but only during Season 12.
So if you don’t want them to become useless, you should definitely spend or trade them in before the start of the new Season 13.
Grab the rocket launcher from the Drifter: If you’ve unlocked the legendary rocket launcher “Bad Omen” for direct purchase with the Drifter, you should definitely get it now. Unless you already have it stored in this version.
Because on the one hand, it has guided rocket tracking and cluster bombs, making it a pretty good roll, and on the other hand, rocket launchers are being buffed in Season 13 (by 30%). So they could finally become useful again. You can get this roll without any RNG, and who knows if the Drifter will still offer it next season.
Redeem these completed weekly bounties: Some people like to hoard bounties at the end of the season to use them for an extra XP boost at the start of the new season. Since next season numerous weekly bounties will not be available, you won’t be able to use all of them. Some will simply disappear.
The following weekly bounties should be redeemed before the end of Season 12:
- Strikes
- Crucible
- Gambit
- from the gunsmith
- from the Crow (Uldren)
Give the Stranger your memory fragments: To expand your Stasis focus and receive new fragments, you need to complete fragment quests with the Exo Stranger on Europa. You should finish these and trade them in with her – if you haven’t yet acquired all 6 fragments for Warlocks, Hunters, and Titans.
The remaining memory fragments won’t bring you anything in Season 13. Stasis will indeed become even stronger: New aspects and fragments are coming, but you’ll have to complete new tasks for the new powers.
