In Fortnite: Battle Royale Season 8 has started. In addition to a new theme focus and a Battle Pass, there are a few secret changes that can now be found on the map. We at MeinMMO will show you which story secrets Epic has hidden this time.
What is currently happening in Fortnite? On September 13, 2021, Season 8 – Chapter 2 began. As seen in the trailer, the map has been plagued by angry cubes that crashed onto the island during the live event in Season 7.
The live event also caused changes to the map, new weapons, and wreckage from the mothership scattered all over the map. But were there also changes that are not immediately noticeable?
Secret changes in Season 8
We show you a few things that can now be found on the map in Season 8. You might not have noticed some of them yet, but it’s good to know in case you need them in battle or want to gather more info about the story.
1. Camping by Pro-Alien Activists from Believer Beach
What is new? In Season 7, there was some tension among the inhabitants of the island. On one side, there was IO – a secret organization that is doing everything to stop this alien threat. On the other side, there were proponents of the aliens and their invasion. They held a welcoming party at “Believer Beach” and prepared for their arrival. But what happened to them now?
The activists have now set up a camp northeast of Craggy Cliffs. There are now inflatable cushions with alien logos on them, caravans, and even grilling equipment. Apparently, the crash of the mothership hasn’t affected them much, and they still believe in the goodness of the aliens. But it remains to be seen for how long…
2. Lonely Intruder
What is new? If you dare to come near the “Steamy Stacks” power plant, you may have noticed a special house that can be seen in the distance. This house is surrounded by a cube-like energy field, which was also present in Holly Hedges during Season 7. But what is inside this alien house?

A hostile intruder, holed up with a lot of cat food. He is certainly trying to cope with the current situation. Still, this shows that not all aliens are evil. Maybe he is trying to hide from IO and just live his life. Definitely a cool detail.
3. Traitor and her organization haunt Fortnite
What is new? After the failed attempt to kill all involved agents during the live event, the boss of the “IO” organization, “Sloane”, has tried to regain a foothold on the island. With small outposts and excavators, she is trying to restore order on the map.

4. Secret bunker facility becomes more visible
What is new? In the past, three entrances to the secret underground base have been discovered. So far, they have remained locked and none of the players in Fortnite know what is behind these entrances.
Many speculate that this is the entrance to an IO underground base. Others believe that these entrances are linked to the bunker of Shadow.
So far there have been no clear or new responses to this topic until now.

Due to the crash of the mothership, the impact of the wreckage has led to the revelation of an undiscovered bunker entrance. Whether further information will be added during Season 8 remains to be seen. The fact is, it remains exciting.
5. Garden gnomes plan an escape
What is new? The famous Fortnite garden gnomes have caused trouble in the past. From an impending war against the plush bears to terrorist attacks, everything has been involved. Therefore, these rebels were all brought to the sheriff’s prison. But what are they up to now?

Based on observations, outside gnomes are trying to help the prisoners. Two gnomes have positioned themselves on the other side of the river near Lazy Lake and are already preparing a wheelbarrow and a gas bottle. Is a prison break about to take place?
6. Alien cubes are moving
What is new? The live event has spawned many cubes of the Kevin species onto the map. Kevin has proven to us in the previous seasons that he is not just a sluggish cube, but can also actively participate in Fortnite.
Eager observers are documenting the movements of the new cubes on Twitter and Reddit. It will be very interesting to see what the cubes are planning against us and whether a fight against them is on the horizon.
The events involving these cube-like beings have so far not promised anything good. It remains to be seen whether Kevin and his family will stomp this island into the ground.
