What it’s about: Today, on February 25th, the free Outriders demo starts. On this occasion, the developers People Can Fly released the 5th Broadcast on Youtube. This presents 10 reasons why you should try Outriders.
MeinMMO summarizes the six most important reasons from the broadcast for you and also mentions three things that might not interest certain players in the demo.
Why should you try Outriders?

The following 6 points go into more detail about the contents.
You can try 4 different classes
Which classes are available? A total of four classes to choose from. Each class has its own skills and gameplay styles. You can freely try these in the demo:
- Devastator
- Technomancer
- Pyromancer
- Trickster
While the Trickster, for example, is a nimble assassin who can manipulate space and time, the Devastator is more of a tank and brawler class but can also influence gravity.

Everything is playable in multiplayer
All activities in Outriders can be played in a group. You can either coordinate directly with friends or randomly team up with other players. Each activity offers a player search.
Crossplay between PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One
Who can play together? You can find other players not only on your respective platform but on all platforms where Outriders is released. You can activate this option in the settings.
Is there cross-save? You can only transfer your save data between consoles of the same manufacturer. This means you can transfer between PS4 and PS5, as well as between Xbox Series and Xbox One. This is not possible between the platforms.
Your progress will be carried over
Everything you play in the demo will be carried over to the main game. Your progress will thus remain up to the release.
You can find out if you’re interested in the story
In the Outriders demo, you can play the first hours of the story. You will be occupied for around 3 hours (per class). In doing so, you can already get an impression of whether you like the story.
In addition to the main story, you can also test side missions. Thus, you can check not only if the campaign appeals to you but also if you like the content alongside the main story.
What is the game roughly about? In Outriders, humanity had to leave Earth and took refuge on the planet Enoch. They encountered a mysterious signal that you are supposed to investigate in the game.
In doing so, you will face all sorts of evil creatures and hostile humans. The style of Outriders is very dark and brutal. Enemies explode, and the previous images convey a hostile atmosphere of the planet Enoch.
Are the shooter mechanics any good?
Outriders is essentially a shooter, which means you will also defend yourself with guns. There are a total of 11 different weapon types to try. From pistols, sniper rifles, and shotguns to the double gun that fires from two magazines, weapon lovers have a lot to explore.

Why might one not want to play Outriders?
Of course, there are always people who are not attracted to a game. Outriders is more aimed at fans of story and loot shooters. Who might find Outriders uninteresting?
You prefer PvP
Outriders focuses fully on combat against computer-controlled opponents. There is no PvP mode. So if you don’t want to do without competing with other players, there is no place for you to let loose in Outriders.
You are a lone wolf, not a co-op fan
Although Outriders, according to the developers, is also adapted for solo players in the story, the game likely unfolds its full potential in a group.
The interplay of the different classes allows for various powerful combinations that should enhance the fun and be helpful on missions. The endgame activity, called expeditions, is also mainly designed for groups.
There, you can only succeed alone if you gather the most powerful gear and are prepared for everything.
You like realistic cover shooters
If you hope for a realistic shooter in Outriders that relies heavily on cover mechanics, you might be disappointed.
Although there is a cover system that can be used, according to the developers, you can completely forgo this system if you build your character accordingly.
Outriders relies on powerful abilities that create a cacophony of explosions and effects. Here, it’s more about good builds and utilizing the mechanics.
When will Outriders be released? The official release is on April 1, 2021. Then Outriders is supposed to be released for PC (Epic and Steam), Google Stadia, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and PS5.
