Fortnite is getting tougher and more ruthless, as certain tips and tricks can help you secure victory in the battle royale shooter. That’s why we at MeinMMO are showing you 6 clever tricks with which you can noticeably improve.
Where do these tips come from? These tips come from our freelance author Christos Tsogos. He has been playing Fortnite since Chapter 1 and knows what it takes.
After a long time as a noob, he engaged with the topic of how he could improve without much effort. Now, after 3000 hours of play and several seasons, he has come up with these tips.
These tips can be applied by anyone, and you will notice significant differences when you do.
1. Use specific structures to peek
Maybe you’re not good at editing or building to outsmart your opponents, but there is still a trick to give you visibility despite built cover.
All you need to do is build a stair or a roof. By then activating the edit mode, the stair or roof becomes invisible, allowing you to look at the battlefield. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work as well with walls or panels.
2. Crouching is key
You have certainly noticed that Fortnite has good sound when it comes to footsteps. When you land in a building, you immediately notice if someone is in your house. Whether it’s a metal floor or the creaking of floorboards, you can hear where your enemy is. However, what many don’t know is that crouching makes you silent.
Try sneaking up on opponents, you will notice that they don’t expect you.
3. Fishing brings you many advantages
Yes, fishing. A science in itself, as it requires a lot of time and effort. But what if I told you that you should definitely utilize it? Fishing offers countless benefits that are overlooked because it takes so long.
However, fish or shield fish are better stored in your inventory than old potions or medkits. With these sea creatures, you can heal faster and better in battle. They provide more health and shield when consumed and take less time to use. Moreover, you have a higher chance of getting rare weapons while fishing.
4. Stop aiming in close combat – shoot from the hip instead
In the heat of battle, one often starts to panic and make many mistakes due to stress. This may lead to wild building or simply shooting randomly at your surroundings. One important thing to keep in mind in a fight is that you should best fire from the hip in close combat.
Because if you don’t, you slow down when looking around. While you aim and possibly hit your opponent, another hyena can sneak up on you from behind. Therefore, keep your field of view as wide as possible and be agile.
5. Get resources quickly
At the start of a match, the one with loot luck or the one with the most resources usually wins. So if you run out of materials at the beginning of a match, you need to know how to quickly get a lot of mats with little effort. I will now list the best sources for you:
- Fences – Wood or Metal
- Furniture from buildings – Good source of gold
- Fish statues in Coral Castle – Drop massive amounts of stone
- Trees or rocks
6. Retreat in hopeless fights
No one likes to retreat. It’s better to die proudly in battle than to win cowardly, but that’s nonsense. You should be able to assess yourself well. In certain situations, it’s not bad to retreat. Even better – you proceed tactically. So if you find yourself in a hopeless fight, retreat and come back at a better time.
Better chances of winning can often be achieved if you have retreated. Due to the elapsed time, other opponents could have gathered who have put an end to your foe.
However, it is advisable to only intervene in the fight when several are fighting. This way you have a lower chance of dying yourself, and you can eliminate one or another opponent.
