What is it about? Soma Yukihira is a passionate cook who helps out at his father’s restaurant. At least until his father sends him to Totsuki Academy. This is an elite cooking school where only 10% of the students graduate.
There, cooking duels are on the agenda. Whoever cooks the better dish has decided the conflict in his favor. The food tastes so good that the tasters experience a “foodgasm” and practically shed their clothes.
Why does the anime deserve a sequel? Although the manga’s story has been concluded, the finale felt much too rushed. There was no character development to be seen, and viewers wonder what happened to the adult characters and how they conquer the world as professional chefs.
The dishes looked so delicious in the manga and anime that we often had water in our mouths. As inspiration for the next lunch, Food Wars could have continued!
